Leahy leaves Morison's Hornchurch

Former Bluebird Jack Leahy has left Steve Morison's Hornchurch after just four months at the club to join Chipstead FC.

Attacker Leahy was among the players released by the Bluebirds at the end of last season and Morison moved swiftly to sign the 21-year-old, who spent last season on loan with Haverfordwest County, for the tier-five side. However the reunion was short lived, with the Urchins announcing he has already left the club, for whom he played nine times.

Jack Leahy has left the club," Hornchurch wrote in a statement. "Jack joined Hornchurch in June 2023 from Cardiff City, making nine appearances for the club this season. We’d like to thank Jack for his time at the club and wish him the very best of luck for the future."

However, in a slightly confusing set of statements, Hornchurch added that they would be monitoring Leahy's progress at the Isthmian League South Central Division side.

"The club can confirm that we have reached an agreement with Chipstead FC for Jack Leahy to join them to get regular game time with them so we can see Jack develop the full potential of the player we know he can be," they added. "We will be watching Jack’s progress with interest and think this is a positive move for all concerned. Good luck Jack, we look forward to watching you play."
