Forward Yakou Meite believes he is getting better with each passing game following an early-season injury setback for his new club.
The Ivorian finally got on the scoresheet for the Bluebirds in their impressive win over Huddersfield Town last week and he now appears in pole position, ahead of Ike Ugbo, to lead the line for Erol Bulut's side. And he believes he is now putting in better showings than in the beginning of the campaign.
“I was playing mostly on the right last season, but I know that I can play up front as well,” he said after the win over Bristol City. “I’m trying to do my best for the team, that’s what I’m doing every game. I’m getting sharper and sharper, so I think I’m putting in much better performances at the moment. I’m happy with my performance and the team.
“It was a very hard game. We know against every team in the Championship, it’s hard to win. We did it at home in front of our fans, so everyone is happy. We just want to keep going.”
“We’ve got a really good group now,” Ng added. “We’ve got some really good players and we look like a proper team. It’s unbelievable. Compared to last year, it’s a different place. We’ve been good in derbies recently, so let’s keep it up and keep this place bouncing.”
Goalscorer in the Severnside derby Perry Ng believes the buzz around the place makes it feel like a totally different club to the one which was battling relegation last season.
