Karlan Grant: I told Perry I hated him when I signed
Perry Ng has been the most surprising player for Karlan Grant since moving to Cardiff on loan.
The Bluebirds forward joined on a season-long loan and has enjoyed a positive start to the season. However, when asked which of his new team-mates had surprised him the most, he opted for reigning player of the year Ng, a player Grant used to hate playing against.
"I'm going to go for Perry," he said in a fan Q&A when asked which player had surprised him most since joining. "I've played against him a few times and I told him when I signed that I hated him! He used to stand on my toes, he used to grab me, he used to pull me.”
"But what a lovely guy he is. He has been phenomenal this season. I knew he was a good player but I didn't know he was that much of a good player! So I'd say Perry (has surprised me most) I'm sure."
Other notable answers were that Mahlon Romeo was the biggest wind-up merchant in the dressing room, Joe Ralls is the slowest in the squad (according to Grant, anyway, who ranked himself the fastest!), Ademola Lookman is the best player he played with and ex-Charlton team-mate Lyle Taylor was his favourite strike partner.
An Arsenal fan growing up, Grant said Thierry Henry was his biggest hero and the reason he wanted to play the game.“
