That'll never happen. It would mean just about every club that was relegated would go bust in a very short time.

Agree. You can't stop parachute payments because the huge change in income for the club's coming down would be too much for them.
But there needs to be more money from the Premier League for other EFL clubs, which I believe will happen.
Either the Premier League clubs will agree to it or the independent regulator will enforce it, when they come in.

I think there should be a premier league 2 and the monies should be distributed among the 2 leagues more evenly

That would be the better option, Wez...
We certainly didn't complain when we got the relegatiin money on two occasiins, so I don't begrudge others (except thal Jacks, of course)...

Its there for a reason club's being promoted have to pay higher wages to entice players , relegation parachute payments allows the relagated clubs to pay those wages to players who are on higher wages, unless of course a relagtion clause is inserted in the contract, which is difficult to negotiate with agents nowadays

But then what about the difference between that league and the one below?

I have no problem with parachute payments for the premier Leagues relegated clubs. What I have an issue with is what happens to the remaining 1 or 2 years payments when a club gets promoted back to the prem within the 3 year payment window. It must go back to the premier League when it should be distributed to the remaining EFL clubs.

I would only have 2 going up and down and have a parachute payments for them too .

Independent Regulator was in the King's Speech today so thankfully that will be going ahead.
That will sort a lot of this out.

There should be a regulation clause in everyone's contract if the team gets relegated then their pay goes down, this would be throughout the whole Premier and Football league teams.
The money saved by parachute payments could then be distributed among all teams in leagues below the Premiership, and any teams that still gets into financial trouble would be their own fault, and deserve any points deduction they get.
