Bristol City have confirmed they have appointed Liam Manning as their new manager, following the sacking of Nigel Pearson.
Manning had been Oxford United manager, who are 2nd in League One. They will now be looking for a new manager.
He also had a spell in charge of MK Dons.

Good appointment, I was in favour of him being appointed when we were linked with Sol Bamba.

Bristol City chairman Jon Lansdown has indicated that January is likely to be a quiet transfer window for Liam Manning as the new head coach begins the task of assessing his squad and the resources at his disposal.
Manning took his first training session at the High Performance Centre on Wednesday in preparation for Saturday’s Championship fixture against QPR but beyond this week, he’ll be gradually forming opinions of individuals, strengths and weaknesses of the squad that will naturally lend itself towards the need to recruit.
The 38-year-old did note during his press conference on Tuesday that he’ll instinctively and immediately look to the academy to resolve any gaps in playing resources, like his predecessor, and the next step after that is the transfer market but over time there will surely be a desire to recruit externally.
Nigel Pearson’s final few weeks in the job were undermined by an injury crisis exacerbated by a lack of squad options in certain positions - centre-back and centre midfield - a product, some would argue, of a summer transfer window in which he was left slightly under-resourced, particularly after the £25million sale of Alex Scott which led to only one more arrival in the form of Taylor Gardner-Hickman.
