“ EROL BULUT TODAY UPDATES CARDIFF CITY FANS “ Thursday 9th November 2023
Erol Bulut has confirmed he wants three or four new faces after Christmas and is looking to add in all areas of the squad.
“I have had three or four long conversations with Tan since I arrived in June, I have never met him, but I hope we will have big support of Vincent Tan in January when I try to bring in three to four new faces.”

The Bluebirds take on 17th place Norwich City at home this weekend.
Cardiff go in to this game with 3 clean sheets and 2wins and a draw from their last 3 games.
Where as Norwich City have not Won for 6 games with 5 defeats behind them.

How I know, he was doing quite well and then he got a small pain when he was training, on his tendon. Right now he is resting.
I think we have to see after this one week of resting. I think his comeback will not change. In my opinion it will be soon.
No operation is needed for sure. That’s why the medical department said he has to take a week’s rest and then he will start training.

Rubin Colwill did well at Stoke, vying for that No.10 spot with Robinson?
I think the last few games, for both, I can speak positively. They did good work. Robinson played good games and Rubin came in and did really, really well. He scored a great goal. These minutes where players play, score, they have to stay with their feet on the ground. We have to continue to work hard. It’s important not to only have two or three games to go well. We need constantly good performances. I want to push my players, Robinson, Rubin, they are doing well and I hope they continue like that.

Norwich, wary of them?
Always! These games are always the most difficult games. You are thinking about the opponent losing only three or four games in a row, but no game is easy. We had it against QPR at home. Everyone was thinking we were going to win but I said it was the most difficult game - and it was like that! We had a lot of chances, the post, created many chances but lost the game 2-1. I don’t want that kind of game again. That’s why I’m preparing my players for that, to be focussed 100 percent. They have to be focussed not to have that game again.

No, he won’t be available. It will take eight to 12 weeks, from when he was injured, now with this one week or 10 days extra, it takes it to 10 to 12 weeks, maybe.

We are doing a lot of work for this. The start was not how I was expecting it. I said that because there were a lot of individual mistakes. We were not aggressive enough. But game by game, the players have understood exactly what I want. Defending starts from the strikers. If the strikers are working hard then it looks better behind. The offensive players also say it’s good when we are building up from the back! So everything is depending on each other and that’s why we have to work together.

Eyeing another home win?
Of course. Finalising the last game before the national breaks is always dangerous. A few players will go away, some of the players will have a few days off. I am warning my team before these breaks. We have to give 100 percent before enjoying the holiday.
It’s twice in one month, many games between. Then in November and December there will be much more until January 1. It’ll be a hard time.
Sometimes the players need these breaks to come back well. Sometimes breaking and having a rest is best for the players.

Of course. These breaks so close to each other, so we are winning two weeks with O’Dowda and Ramsey, their healing is getting quicker. So we can have them for more games, I hope!

When I look at the list of games, every two or three days. At the start of the season we didn’t have it easy and Vincent supported us really well. I think in January, for the transfer period, he will again be behind us and support us really well to get a few transfers that we can go to our targets that we are focusing on. How much are you involved in transfers?
It’s clear what we want and in which positions we want. Maybe this makes it easier for us because we are focusing on a few positions. For those positions we have a few names. But we are focused on a few names and I hope with the big support of Vincent we can get it done.

What’s the main quality Sio has brought?
Work rate. I know him as a worker, he runs, fights, wins balls and brings it to his team-mates and keep the ball. In offensive shape, he is not one of the best players, but he has progressed a lot since he was in Alanya and Trabzon, because Trabzon keeps the ball a lot. Here we have to do it better than what we’ve showed until now. I think we can do it better. We have to trust our team-mates.
Siopis has to progress too and get better and better. His main asset is running, fighting and disrupting the opponent.

Erol Bulut has started discussion for a new contract with Joe Ralls:
The Bluebirds skipper, who joined the club 12 years ago, signed a two-year deal in the summer of 2022, meaning his current contract expires next June. City have handed out a spate of contracts to a number of senior players so far this season, with Jamilu Collins appearing to be next on the agenda.
However, Ralls' future is also the subject of discussion behind the scenes, it seems. And Bulut is positive about the way those talks are progressing.
Asked about a potential new deal for Ralls, Bulut said: "We are doing good movements for it. Our guys are working on it."

While Bulut has been proactive regarding players' contracts, there seems to be less of a hurry for him to sort out his own future in the Welsh capital.
City fans would have to reach far back in their memory archives for the last time a manager was poached by a bigger club, but seeing as though the Turkish boss has made such a barnstorming start to life in Wales, supporters could be forgiven for growing a little concerned about the length of the manager's deal.
As we understand it, Bulut signed an initial contract until the end of the season, however, there is a clause which allows the club to trigger another two seasons. Speaking about his contract, he said: "I try to fix the players' contracts first. My thing is in the hands of the chairman and Vincent Tan. Until now, we didn't talk about it. I am just focussing on doing a good job here and my own work.
"But, of course, also for the club it is important. And for me, to plan something for the future, for training camps and things like this for the new season. Everything is important, but until now we haven't had any meeting about that."
