MY VIEW: TODAY WAS A CHANCE FOR BULUT TO CAPITALISE ON CITY’

MY VIEW: TODAY WAS A CHANCE FOR BULUT TO CAPITALISE ON CITY’S RISE UP THE TABLE v A NORWICH TEAM WHO HAD NOT WON FOR 6 GAMES & LOST 5 OF THEM & AN MANAGER UNDER FIRE.

For me we under performed and gave the pts to Norwich and def 3pts dropped, this is the type of game Cardiff need to win to make the play-offs.

Norwich actually could of won by more.

Norwich with the worst defence in the Championship and only 1 win away ,

I watched the Norwich tv and their reporters were in shock as they never thought Norwich would get a point, never mind 3pts.

Quite a slow first-half but when Cardiff got an equaliser, it livened up and Cardiff were the better team.

I thought Norwich had the better of the 2nd half and had quite a few clear cut chances and in the end sloppy defending by Cardiff, Norwich came back to take the 3pts.

International break now for 2wks

Conceding 3 goals at home after such a great run , was a shock.

FIRST-HALF:There was nothing between them for 20mins, then from a set piece , a simple corner , unmarked at the far post Fassnacht tapped it in with McGuinness just stood there 0-1 (22mins).

Cardiff then pressurised the Norwich defence for long periods and eventually City’s pressure paid off in the 38th with Josh Bowler with an easy finish, made by Callum Robinson 1-1. Then in the 42nd min Callum Robinson header made it 2-1 Cardiff.
Cardiff made it look so easy with the 2goals in 4mins, Norwich defence were all over the place.

SECOND-HALF: Norwich made a double substitution at h-t.
Grant had a good chance , one on one with Norwich goalie, who had the better of Grant.
Alnwick then made a great 2finger save.
Norwich made a 3rd substitution.

Norwich took control and had 3 good chances.

72nd min: Cardiff made a triple substitution: Tanner on for Bowler. Rubin Colwil on for Robinson
Wintle on for Ralls.

74th min: Norwich made their 4th sub.

79th min: Etete came in for Meite.
Norwich then made their 5th sub.

In the 82nd min Norwich got their equaliser with a Wintle own goal 2-2.

Then bang 84th min Norwich, Alnwick mistake, defence all over the place and bang 2-3.

Lost in on those subs. What did they do when they came on.

Today was a wake up call for the team that anybody can beat anybody in this league. Norwich may be low on form but they can still be a threat regardless. I think today also showed that we need to strengthen in January to avoid the mistakes of today.

Typical banana skin game. Never felt the pre-game over confidence that some fans had. Credit to their manager they bossed our midfield second half and they do have some quality players. Bulut perhaps made his subs too late too. Still not too disheartened. This is not a top six side (yet). We dont boss or kill off team enough. Long way to go. Being in the top 10 by Jan is still the target. Ref overall was poor today.

Ian,

We actually went backwards after the Subs.

Totally agree, today was a wake up call big time.

We played an awful Norwich team, concede more goals than any other team and this was their first win in 7 games.

If only the ref had balls.
Shocking display.
In line the foul on Bowler.
Obvious pen
Also I was inline with third goal.
Shame the linesman wasn't

Yes I agree on many of these points, but Norwich were there to be beaten, when we came back to 2-1 we should of finished them off.

Taking off Ralls, Robinson and Bowler was essentially cutting the heart out of the squad in one move. They controlled the game all day. Really naive decision.

If you are implying their 3rd goal was offside, you are wrong as he was comfortable onside. But I do agree on your other points.
We lost that game not because of our substitutions but more to do with us not being able to defend corners. Their first and second both came from corners and it was as if everyone switched off after first contact. McGuinness for the first and then everyone for the second.

To me shows the importance of Ng in our defence. A big miss today. Sorry but Romeo is a liability with poor positioning.

Regroup after the international break and go again.

Nail on the head. This league is a coupon buster. You're never safe with a lead. We need to be a nit more street-wise, specifically at home.

Better manager won today, everything went down Romeo side second half. Even the first half most the Cardiff players didn't really look up for the game, had their minds on holiday already

Bowler should of had a pen, Grant should of scored, looked miles off side for their goal

Only one sub had a decent game and tried to create anything when they came on, and that was Rubin.

The others struggled to get in the game.

They are all difficult games but it is one she has been winning at home. That said, I noted I'm the week that the new Norwich DoF was there today which if course would have given Wagner a certain focus as I believe this game could have been make or break for him.

Lost to the better side who wanted it more. That sums it up, we need 4 or 5 decent players come January for sure because some of these freebies we got are just that for a reason. :bluescarf:

In my opinion Erol Bulut lost us this match with his negative tactics against a side who have been struggling. This passing out of defence is awful to watch and dangerous when a team like Norwich decides to pressurise us when we trying to play it back and fore at the back. On the other hand, we did not pressurise them at all and gave them plenty of time to get the ball. On the couple of occasions we did do so, they looked very shaky, but it wasn’t enough.
Some of the referee’s decisions were baffling and it cost us dearly. She is not ready for Championship football, and was hardly ever up with play. Norwich were much better in the second half as we allowed them too much room. I wish we had a midfielder like their No.27 Rowe, who dictated the match from start to finish. They had 20 shots at goal compared with our 18 and they definitely deserved to win the match.
Personally,I do not think we lost the match because of the substitutions, as Tanner and Colwill did ok when they came on, but Wintle was not his usual self and we certainly missed Ralls.
Please Erol, do not use such negative tactics at home in future as we are much better going forward, with some fast forwards. You have the full support of the home fans at the moment, but numbers will dwindle if this style continues.
