My xbox for some reason has decided to delete my profile which is annoying as I have now lost all my data! What makes it worse is that when I try and make a new profile it says 'To create a gamer profile on this console you must have an Xbox 360 storage device... please connect a memory unit then select continue'
Can anyone help me out?

Your HDD is fucked. Take it off, blow on it to remove any dust (Do the same with where the HDD fits onto the 360) and see if that helps. Sounds like you've damaged it somehow though.
