“ What positions do we need to strengthen in? “

Erol Bulut has said openly that he wants 4-5 players in January, and he knows in what positions.

What do you think at least four of those positions should be? Here’s what I think:


Right Back - Yesterday showed how much we rely on Ng at RB. When he’s injured/suspended we need another player who will do a good job there.

Left Back - Collins is doing very well this season but we don’t have a suitable replacement when he’s unavailable, especially with O’Dowda’s injury problems. Collins will probably go to AFCON in January so will be missing for a while.

Another holding midfielder - Siopis has mostly been brilliant, although he was poor yesterday. Ralls though can’t last 90 minutes anymore and when he’s booked early, it limits his game a lot.

Striker - This goes without saying. Meite works very hard but doesn’t have that striker’s instinct that would get him more goals. Has had his injury problems as well. Etete was having a good spell before his injury but still not the finished article. Ugbo is not good enough for the Championship and it seems Bulut has lost faith in him.

Ned i will be glad when Moore signs for us.
That leaves 4 more, i agree with you regarding Rb and Lb 2 more then, a midfielder and another center half.
We then should be ok till the summer

Defo a good no.9, decent cover at FB, a dynamic front facing midfielder (e.g. Kavanagh), possibly extra cover at CB too.

A real center-forward without a doubt, my fingers are crossed that Kieffer comes "home"

Joe Ralls replacement, a real all-action 8. I think Joe is such a club man and pro he will know his seasons as a starter are limited but as a squad player he has at least two left then that's him done.

A left back that can push or start ahead of Collins

Centre half, need 4 especially if they are mobile enough to cover at full back


You can judge a team by their subs and ours weren't up to much yesterday

I do feel we need a dynamic playmaker. We can score goals but there are times where we struggle to have any ideas especially when we sit back. Ramsey is nice to have but a game changer midfielder is needed.

Right back , left back , creative midfielder and 1 x target man striker plus 1 to play off him .

Half a dozen hopefully if we want to push on that replaces some of the freebie shit we got within imo but we shall see.

Nico Williams was on the Forest bench today, but Aurier came off the bench to replace Aina, so Nico seems to be well out of favour at the moment.
Could be a good loan for us especially as he can play right or left back. I think Erol has connections with the Forest owner.

I agree with the general consensus that we need to strengthen in both full back positions, along with a quality midfielder and centre forward if we are to progress.
However, I totally disagree with comments degrading the efforts of our so-called freebie signings over the past few transfer windows. They have not only kept us in this league, but this season have got us up in the top ten. Way beyond most fans expectations.
Sure, yesterday was disappointing, but we shouldn't lash out on some of these lads that got us in a healthy position in the Championship to date just based on poor second half against Norwich.

Striker priority 1 for me. We have OK cover for this level, apart from a goalscorer.

Currently Panzo and Ng. Hopefully this position will be strengthened in time.
But it will take more than one transfer window to get together the squad we all crave!

A centre back would complete our squad as far as numbers are concerned.

No question though we need another stricker as ours just aren't up to it. I'd be content with just that but reckon top 6 would be out of reach.

Being greedy though, and proper having a go at sneeking a play off place, I'd bring in a box to box midfielder. Same sort of standard as Siopis but with a little more creativity. I'd also like another winger, just don't think we score enough goals from these 2 positions.

I'd offload Sawyers, Rhino and that non existent right back dude who came from Leicester. Would also be OK with Ugbo leaving. That's 4 wages free'd up but we all know it's not as easy as that.
