Wales:

Play-offs

We will be at home to one of Finland, Iceland or Ukraine.

The other semi final would be Poland v Estonia.

The Euro 2024 playoffs take place in March 2024. Twelve teams will take part.

There will be six semifinals, all held on March 21, 2024, and then three finals held on March 26. All games are one-off, single-legged affairs.

The six semifinals will be split into three sections — Path A, Path B and Path C — with two games in each and a separate draw to determine which semifinal winner will host that path's final. The teams in each path are seeded based on their UEFA Nations League ranking, with the top seed facing the fourth seed, and second facing third.

The winners of the three finals will be added to the final lineup for Euro 2024.

How can one of the semi finals be Poland v Estonia? Estonia finished bottom of their group with one point...

It’s not done by nations who finished 3rd in the group, but on the 12 highest ranked Nations League teams that didn’t qualify automatically.

We need a new manager in place tomorrow, to prepare for the playoffs.

Thanks for clarifying that - seems a bit ridiculous as Estonia would be in a low Nations League group, but no doubt Poland are happy!!

That was the reason of the nations league being formed, it gives the lower rank teams the opportunity to play at the euros, something they could not do before the nations league was formed.

Who is in the play-offs?

Path A: Poland, Wales, Estonia and one of Ukraine, Finland or Iceland

Path B: Israel, Bosnia-Herzegovina and two of Ukraine, Finland or Iceland

Path C: Georgia, Greece, Kazakhstan and Luxembourg

How do the play-offs work and when is the draw?
The play-offs will decide the final three sides to qualify. There will be six semi-finals on 21 March 2024, before the finals on 26 March.

Twelve teams are in the play-offs based on their performance in the 2022-23 Nations League.

The play-off fixtures will be:

Semi-finals - Path A: Poland v Estonia and Wales v Finland or Ukraine or Iceland

Semi-finals - Path B: Israel v Ukraine or Iceland and Bosnia & Herzegovina v Finland or Ukraine

Semi-finals - Path C: Georgia v Luxembourg and Greece v Kazakhstan

A draw, which takes place this Thursday, will decide which path the non-group winners - Finland, Ukraine and Iceland - will follow and who hosts who in the finals.

You will be able to watch the draw, alongside live text updates, on the BBC Sport website and app from 11:00 GMT.
