Our left side is going to be the weak spot no grant or collins who hwve settled in on that side and putting 2 new in that position and trying to understand each other is not so quick and easy

This is going to be a tough ask with key players missing and WBA in fine form.
I would gladly take a point now.

Agree with that.

Frustrating that Collins got a needless yellow card at Preston (should have been red). Now means we have to get through this game with both first choice players on the left missing.

I’m more than happy for Ralls to slot in at left back. He has been very solid when he’s had to play there. I wouldn’t want us to switch Ng and have Romeo at RB. We would be weaker on both flanks then. Wintle to step in midfield, Tanner and Bowler on the wings. Hopefully McGuinness is ok to play. Otherwise it’s probably Pandora to replace him.

Carlos Corberan's men head to Cardiff City on Tuesday night with the head coach now mulling over his options with several options to make changes if he so desires.

The Baggies do have one fresh concern and expected absence heading to the Cardiff City Stadium, though, with fewer midfield options available to the head coach.

Nathaniel Chalobah - knee

The boost of John Swift and Josh Maja's return came with the blow that midfielder Chalobah, who has performed well at times of late, is absent with a knee problem. He was kicked at Sunderland and tried to train through the pain during the international break but broke down before the Ipswich game. A true timeframe and extent of his damage will hopefully be confirmed down in south Wales.

Adam Reach - quad

Corberan revealed that the utility man, 30, is likely to return to full training with the Albion squad this week. Saturday at home to Leicester is probably too soon to be involved but Sunderland the following week could be a target. Has missed four months after surgery.

Daryl Dike - Achilles

Striker Dike is a huge one the club will look to get right. Out since April with his third serious and long-term absence since arriving from the States just under two years ago. He is set to make a return this time next month.

Martin Kelly - ACL

Kelly was confirmed to have returned to training last week but after the best part of nine months out injured it is a big ask for him to make an immediate comeback to the first-team squad. Likelihood is he may have some under-21s minutes before being considered.

CCFC Team news

Bulut will still be without Aaron Ramsey and Callum O'Dowda, who are working their way back to fitness after fairly significant injuries. The manager said before the clash with Preston: "We don’t want too many injuries, because before we had a few and our game style changed a little bit. We want Aaron Ramsey and Callum O’Dowda to come back as soon as possible. They’ve been running well, but we have to be careful and not start them back too early.”

Mark McGuinness picked up a knock in the win on Saturday and will be assessed. Grant will not be eligible to play against his parent club, while Jamilu Collins will miss the match after picking up his firth booking at the weekend.

As for the Baggies. Nathaniel Chalobah is a doubt after a knee injury forced him to miss the game against Ipswich at the weekend. Adam Reach and Daryl Dike remain sidelined for the Midlanders.

0 - 2. Hate to say but think we'll be a bit thin on the ground with players out.

Think with a weakened defense against a rapid, in form westbrom, I'd happily take a point now, but can see it being loss in extra time, we won't have as effective subs and can see them pinching it. But I said before Preston if we could get 5 points out of Preston westbrom and Southampton I'd be more than happy, hope we nick it tho

Quiet on here tonight but the game continues...

The Bluebirds not without their chances but The Baggies not without chances, too!

As I write, WBA are given a free-kick om the edge of the 'D' and it's blocked before a Bluebird free-kick...

HALF-TIME SCORE: CARDIFF CITY 0 - 0 WBA (45 mins)

A decent first half that saw both sides trying to take contol and succeeding in patches...

The Baggies probably had the best chance when put through only to hit the post and the player following up missed the opportunity to tuck it in at the second attempt

Re: MATCH THREAD: “ CARDIFF CITY v WEST BROM “ MATCH THREAD

Good half. Game of chess between two decent sides. West Brom had the best chance hitting a post. I still dont understand Runnarson being first choice keeper. Nearly got caught playing out from the back, hoofed stuff too long and when they hit the post his positioning wasnt great again. Has to improve just feels like a mistake is coming. We miss Grant tonight too. Tanner is doing nothing wrong just not a threat.

Very even first half, there to be won for either side.

Bowler playing well, some brilliant play by him at some point and he forced the keeper into a decent save.

Ng is much less effective at LB.

West Brom should have scored when they hit the post.

Runarsson doesn’t look convincing and nearly gave West Brom an open goal.

Surprised people are saying good first half, I thought it was a poor one.

Re: MATCH THREAD: “ CARDIFF CITY v WEST BROM “ MATCH THREAD

Tue Nov 28, 2023 8:52 pm

WBA are a decent team, but truth be told, as the home team we created one chance in 45 mins. That chance was created by Bowler dribbling through on his own. I can’t understand why (powderpuff) Robinson is in the team, (but if he suddenly has a brilliant second half) I will be happy). But Id rellace him half time.. Also still don’t understand dropping Alnwick for Runnarson!
