1st JAN PREDICTION : Let us play

Wed Dec 06, 2023 4:50 pm

1st JAN PREDICTION :

Let us play a game of predicting our (1) point tally and (2) league position ………after the 1st of January QPR game.

The 1st of January is an important day for us , because this is when the ‘transfer window’ opens …..a window that most fans are very eagerly awaiting …..because judging by Bulut’s frank and clear words as well as reliable indications through the grapevine ….

Tan is going to open the purse strings (staying within the FFP rules)….. and we expect to sign 4 or 3 quality players …with the hope and expectation of making the playoffs .

This is further enhanced by the return of our illustrious captain and leader Aaron Ramsey and the influential O’Dowda .

We have 7 games to go between now and then , and apart from Leicester and a good , steady Hull ….we have ‘relatively’ easier games. The games and present league rankings are : Millwall - 19th. Birmingham-15. Hull -6th. Sheff Wed - 24. Plymouth - 16th. Leicester - 1st QPR - 22nd

Personally I predict that we will win 4 of the 7 games ..and gain 14 points …..with a tally of 41 points and a 6th place position ( playoffs) - come 1st January .

I believe that Leicester , Ipswich , Leeds and Southampton are different class and out of reach .

Overtaking WBA is a challenge at this stage (but possible) ….however Hull and the rest above us we can overtake not so much because of our undeniable strength ….but significantly and mainly because of the EASY(ish) run we have till 1st January.

Come 1st January , I believe that 8 clubs - including us - will be fighting for the two spots 5th and 6th …of the playoffs . With the almost certain strengthening of our team , and Bulut having proved to have a good eye for talent , and with our team playing coherently as a unit and with good spirit in our camp …..

I am expecting and hoping for a playoff spot .

Conclusion : Come 1st January 5pm , I predict (1) 41 points and (2) 6th position in the Championship .

The second half of the season we only have WBA & WATFORD to play away out of the top 10 teams at this moment.
We need to build a fortress at home, as we have all the top teams to visit us setting up a great chance of a top 6 position at season end .
Looking towards a great second half of the season. :bluebird:

1) 38 points
2) 8th

And depending on signings after Jan should give us a good position to push for the playoffs. Both of which I would be happy with given last season.

Like you I think that there are 4 teams way above anyone else in ability so we'll hopefully be fighting for 5th or 6th.

40 points and in 9th.

I believe we will then strengthen in January which will see us compete for the top six.

We may not make the play-offs, but just competing for them would be a highly successful season.

This season is going much better than I expected so far, long may it continue.

Unlike normal I think most of the top 5 will remain in situ, leaving 1 play-off place for the rest. That as per usual is side open in this division and could go as far down as Norwich. Probably whoever succeeds will need to put in a pretty impressive winning/unbeaten run. There's there great opportunities here a relatively attractive set of Christmas fixtures, Ramsey and I Dowda bac k, a transfer windowc where we are going to spend and a proven 20 goal striker apparently returning.
If all those things come off the second half of the season could mean we'll go up as Champions !!

The next 4 matches ( 3 home & 1 away) are very winnable and QPR on new years day would be another match I would consider for a win. So I would say at 5pm on 1st Jan we would be on at least 41 points and 6th in table.

With the returning star players Rambo & O'Dowda plus the signing being trailed we will have a strong 2nd half of the season finishing on around 75 -78 points giving a clear play-off finish and then who knows what happens then, Wembley maybe :o :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
