We Are Not A Top 6 Side

Sun Dec 10, 2023 7:47 pm

Plain and simple, let's just be grateful we are not struggling again.

But as far as the top 6 is concerned we are nowhere near good enough,Weare punching above our weight so far this season so let's favw facts and enjoy the rest of the season, anything else is just a bonus. :bluescarf:

Don’t really disagree but there’s a saying that the table never lies. Plus I’d imagine there’s some quality reinforcements coming in January as well as a certain mr Ramsey. I do agree that we should just enjoy it.
Ps. Were Luton that great last year?

The table doesn't lie I agree, but being realistic we've gained a few points whe we didn't really deserve to, a few games we've been battered and we're lucky to get some points and some games we didn't deserve the win but we got the points. So on those fa ts we are definitely punching above our weight and over the course of the season I see us as nothing but a mid table team. The start of the season though I would have been happy with that.

We’ll see I suppose. Deffo agree with your last sentence.

nobby, great to see you posting... :ayatollah:

I agree with you in as much as I believe we have pleasantly overachieved from where most believed we would be, so it would be realistic to expect a slip back at some point...

However, I genuinely believe Erol Bulut is 'the real deal' manager we have lacked for some seasons and with a few January additions, including Keiffer Moore, we could be there or there abouts and right now I'd take the 'abouts' as being a very good season...

I know what you are saying we've picked up points we didn't deserve.

On the flip side we've dropped points we didn't deserve too. It's football.
We are there on merit. And will be in and around there come the end.

The table doesn’t lie for sure.

You make a good point about games where we’ve been lucky to get points but what about the games where we haven’t got what we deserved ? Leeds, Leicester, Ipswich, etc., ?

We are where we deserve to be at the moment. But, by the end of the season we won’t be where we are now unless we strengthen, particularly in terms of getting a goal scorer.

Now, if the rumours are true and Moore is coming and we add another CM, CB (cover) and LB we could really be in business particularly if Rambo and O'Dowda are back too.

I think, realistically, we’ll probably just miss out on the playoffs but I wouldn’t bet against us with Rambo and Moore in the squad.

I'll say it again, we are NOT a top 6 side, fact.

It’s a fact at the moment.

Did anyone really think we were? We’ve come a long way from last season but definitely struggling again now. If we don’t strengthen significantly in January we’ll end up bottom half of the table.

Not without Ramsey, with him fit for most of the season we would be, he makes a big difference.

Totally agree. Makes a huge difference to our midfield, our whole team and the mindset of the opposition
