2 mths ago, a dominant City beat Bristol and Huddersfield -

Mon Dec 18, 2023 11:06 am

I saw this on Twitter by NigelBlues and he so right

2 mths ago, a dominant City beat Bristol and Huddersfield - 25 shots, 14 on target, 6 goals. Exact same players as now (Ralls apart who only played 1 hour in both games)

They really need to compare what they were doing then to what they're doing now. The difference is enormous.

Excellent post and Nigel is bang on:

I travelled back for the Worzels game and really enjoyed.

I came back for Albion home and Norwich home and City played so different and started to look clueless.

I’ve watched every game and the football recently has gone backwards and I just can’t put my finger on it why?

Plus many of the clubs we have played have been on terrible runs and poor themselves and our football dire, yet virtually the same team, been very lucky regarding injuries until last week.

Since those 2 Victories :

It's all down to fitness , as the games have gone on we look more tired .

I thought we were suppose to be the fittest for years under Buluts new backroom staff.

We can’t put this run purely down to Ralls being missing, don’t get me wrong we’re by a million miles a better team with him available but one player doesn’t make the whole team’s capabilities seemingly collapse. Everyone barring probably Goutas has been poor for weeks

Could be that we're beating sides we're better than and struggling against the better teams we've only lost to Birmingham and QPR below us and QPR was very early on. We only beaten Sunderland and Preston above us and Preston have been dreadful after there excellent start.

Looking at are Xmas fixtures I expect to take 7 points from Wednesday Plymouth and QPR but find Leicester really tough.

Under warnock it was the same....started season playing amazing fast attacking football and then it just stopped. Xmas time.i think we lost 3 or 4 in a row but look where we ended. Bulut needs time I feel this season is about mid table as he rebuilds the squad.

Patience I believe we have a good manager in the making

Agree with the start of your post - Moving on to those games ..they are going to be key before the Jan Transfer window .

We probably are, but unfortunately we still don’t have the depth to rotate starters at this time of year. Players are getting tired but hopefully in January we can help with this. :bluebird:

Probably are but injurys and playing the same players in a smaller squad as had an effect , two of our best players missing fir large part of the season in ramsey and odowda, also flogging sopsis to death every game , he definitely needs a rest

Wez,

We actually had our great run with Ramsey & O’Dowada missing and many said they were not missed.

We have been very lucky about injuries until 10 days ago.
