Stoke City have appointed Steven Schumacher as their new manager.

Schumacher has left his role at Plymouth to take the job.

Plymouth Argyle will now be looking for a new manager.

It seems a bit of an odd situation, as I just don't see Stoke improving no matter who is in charge. They are/were close to FFP sanctions, so their situation after throwing money at a Premier League gamble is pretty restrictive...

But hey, they may have unearthed their new Messiah...!

Steven Schumacher has given his reasons for leaving Plymouth Argyle to become the new head coach of Stoke City on a contract until the summer of 2027.

Schumacher cited the history of the Staffordshire club as one of the attractions and described Stoke's infrastructure, stadium and facilities as top class.

The 39-year-old has taken three members of his backroom staff to the Potteries - assistant manager Mark Hughes, first team coach Peter Cavanagh and goalkeeping coach Darren Behcet.
