"We knew it would be a difficult game today. It was not a game where you can play nice football, make combinations and score goals. Today, everything was about fighting and running," he said after the win.
"The first half, not so much, but the second half, we showed team spirit and team work. At the start of the week we had a meeting with the team and we said we have to change how we work on the field. Because the games before was not like what we saw today. Today we fought as a team and I think we deserve the three points at the end.”
"The opponent tried long balls behind the full backs and centre-backs. They had some shots and scored a goal. We were not really in the game in the first half or adapting to their game. In the dressing room, we exchanged some words with the players and in the second half it was much, much better.
"The last few games, sometimes it was nice passing action. But in the next few games and for the rest of the season, there will be games like this and we have to be ready for everything."
"KG is working all the games really hard. He runs a lot. We see the distances, what he's doing, he is one of the best players that we have in the team. His work rate is high," the Bluebirds boss said of Grant.
"In the second half we changed him to the No.10 position where he can make the runs between the centre-backs and full-backs. I hope he continues like this. He is a good player and a hard-working player, I hope with that goal today he woke up and some goals will follow.”
"We haven't work on [him playing in No.10 position], but I knew from before, where he played, that he could play as a striker. He can play as a second striker. He has good speed, good control with the ball and he made those runs in the spaces. Maybe from now we can make changes like that.“
