Potentially controversial opinion.
But, do we take Manolis out against Plymouth?
Obviously he’s an outstanding footballer. We could see that when he first signed, and his performances.
However, last few weeks he doesn’t look the same.
He can’t find his passes, he’s not breaking up much in midfield either. At certain times he’s a passenger at the moment.
Don’t know whether he maybe burnt out? Not used to the relentlessness of the championship etc.
I’ve always been of the opinion of not having Ralls and Wintle in the same midfield, however when Wints come on today, he did a good job, and helped us get up the pitch.

He could just be worn out & needs a rest, the xmas period is particularly hard for foreign players as they're not used to so many games in such a short period of time. Give him a rest & hopefully he can come back & play like he did when he first arrived.

Yeh I think ur right there , he needs a rest for the next game or even bring him on towards the end ,
He’s definitely burnt out

Fair comment imo. The lad has talent but has been poor for a month or so now and just needs a rest and a recharge.
The problem is the backup is abysmal so the sooner January comes to get reinforcements the better.

Bowler and Robinson need to be dropped too. Robinson doesn't seem interested and is not putting a shift in, Bowler has gone off the boil last few games. Can't believe we are 3 points off the play offs but I have stated before not a good watch last couple of months. Just can't see any structure to our play. Keeper mom for me.

He gone right off the boil and I felt it was a brave decision to bring him off today.
Should he be picked to play against Plymouth? If he is I don't think it will be for 90 minutes.

Siopis befire Wintle any day.
Robinson is a waste of space, Bowler couldn't beat an egg.
Miete, Robinson and Bowler are the worst forward line in the league.
Rall most important midfielder.

Agree with you regarding Robinson. Doesn’t look interested in the slightest bit!
However, I don’t know about Bowler. The few times he did get the chance to run with the ball, he beat men a couple of times, which is more than I can say about Tanner.
Don’t get me wrong, love Tanner. Start of the season, he grabbed it by the scruff of the neck!
He’s gone off the boil a bit, but think he just needs confidence in his ability a bit more.

Agreed, the little fella is all over the pitch doing his job and others...
Maybe needs a rest but we need him for the big games; of which for me includes Plymouth...
We have Ralls back and he is more able to play with Wintle in the absence of Siopis...
But the OP raises a good point...!

I would rest Siopis who has not been his usual self for the last month or so. Ralls makes such a difference when he plays - a very good captain.

Siopis is playing at another level to Ralls and Wintle.. he’s mobile, they’re not. One of those two will be gone in January, or benched. Assuming we’re going to sign better players.

In hindsight if we get the win without him then yes good decision. If we lose and bad decision the 3 massive points dropped. Hopefully we can struggle on with him playing 60ish until the cavalry arrive in January.

i reckon he's exhausted and needs a rest, while others get the international break off to recover and rest, he's with the Greece squad and playing.
Sun Dec 24, 2023 12:02 pm
He clearly needs a rest so wouldn’t be against that happening against Plymouth. Would much rather keep him fresh for Leicester, which is a much tougher game.
Wasn’t surprised he was substituted early yesterday, he looked tired.

He will thrive with better players to take the pressure off him and who are also happy to receive the ball in tighter spaces.

Agree .
Not to mention covering for no existent no. 10s. Apart from when Ramsey is playing.

Is Erol reading my posts? I want a position as a tactical analyst, thank you
Siopis on the bench, Wintle starting with Ralls
