“Cardiff’s players are tired” Cardiff assistant manager Niko

Sat Jan 06, 2024 12:25 pm

My View:

It’s the same for nearly every club in all 4 leagues and has been like this for 50 yrs or more and they are very highly paid professional’s.
Apparently they were suppose to be fitter than ever some in here were saying.

Cardiff assistant manager Nikolaos Karydas:

“It’s the first time for me (in the FA Cup). I am a fan of British competitions and I speak for myself to say it’s an important competition. We will put out our best starting lineup at this moment. Each game is important, but all of the games are not of equal value. So tomorrow we will decide exactly. The players have come from a long period with games in a row, so we try to manage their tiredness, our players are tired.”

"I remember so many games, but I cannot remember a special game. All of the games I watched were very good. I liked when I watched the final."

Think you have to look at this from a professional football view . I am sure the tired he means is at their level of professional sport Put them on a pitch with mere mortals and they would be on a different level . I played sport at international level we could come back from overseas tournaments feeling absolutely knackered after playing 4/5 games over 14 days .
I do think that the foreign players are feeling it thou as the number of games are far more frequent and the recovery times are far less .
However saying the above it is the same for all teams in our division ,most have played a very similar amount of games unless they have had a run in the league cup

Probably, we're are 9th by a slim margin and papering over the cracks. Just tired of the constant bullshit with this club. We need some positivity within the club. Some investment, some passion, a leader for the players to look to. If we are in the same position come February, then Tan has to go, full stop. Fed up of the same old excuses. The club needs to get a grip.End of rant. Good luck for the Leeds game :bluescarf:

Chances are highly likely we will be in the same position come February.

The way forward for us to to get rid of the dross that Steve Morison left us. He only got the job because Tan wanted to go cheap. For me the buck stops with Tan. At least he is staying out of it all but he needs to invest to get this club back on track from when he took over. Let's see if he is going to do that.

I’m not a big fan of Tan but It’s all good saying “Tan’s got to go” but if he doesn’t get offered what he wants for the club, he’s not going to sell. And he has every right not to sell obviously.

If you put your house for sale, you wouldn’t accept 50% of your asking price.

It’s true that we’ll have to be a Premier League club for him to get what he wants for the club. But he does have the right to say what he wants for the club should he decide to sell (always said he would sell to the right person for the right price) and not accept less, as is the case with any sort of business.

You need to give your head a wobble.

We are within striking distance of the playoffs after 3 transfer windows of not being able to pay transfer fees.

It also looks like the long winded legal actions around the Sala death are coming to a head and likely to result in a significant cash injection.

The players rumoured to be coming in (and I accept not all will happen) shows the level we are looking at.

Players of the quality of Ramsey and O’Dowda to come back.

A manager on the up rather than previous cheap options or people on the downward slide of their careers.

Even as we stand more than half of the Championship clubs would swap places with us. By the end of this window many more may be looking on with envy.

Things are on the up but unless we are patient we’ll always be in a permanent cycle of sacking the manager when we just need to trust in them.

I’m sure that some people on here just want this club to fail and I find that appalling.

We will see, happy to be proved wrong. Let the circus continue, I believe the manager can deliver, given the resource to do so.

Firstly. I don't go along with this 'players are tired' nonsense.
They are supposed to be professional footballers. They are young men who should be fit enough to play football for a living without getting tired.
I have heard many past top professional players say that 'tiredness' is a poor excuse!

Secondly, what a strange defensive line up yesterday. It was asking for trouble.

Thirdly, despite us creating a number of chances, including two penalties, we still couldn't find the net once!

In my eyes, a poor performance which emphasised the lack of quality in reserve. Since we lost Ramsey, the standard has slowly drained from many of our performances.
Some good quality new blood is needed in the starting line up and the sooner that Ramsey is back, the better.

My biggest concern is that with no new signings to date, we may be heading for the usual last minute panic signings at the end of the month. Who will we end up with then?
I get frustrated by the regular rumours of signings being posted, which have proved non-starters to date. :old:

It is only the 7th Jan did you really expect someone to be in the door so early in the transfer window. I can’t think of many clubs that have signed players in our division as yet. It is always a deemed last minute panic in Jan as clubs hold out until near the end to get as good a deal as they can if they know a club really wants their player.

I believe Bulut and his team are pulling up trees getting this group so high in the league.

Yesterday demonstrated the lack of depth and the unjoined-up thinking of the previous two seasons. I can blame Morison and his team but they shouldn't have been anywhere near a championship club at that stage of their careers. Hornchurch> Sutton> league one promotion contenders then Championship is fair enough, but a poor U21 setup to the championship is insane and that is firmly on Vinny.

The four kids playing yesterday need to be loaned for the remainder of the season and hopefully, we can find clubs for about four of the starters. Where was Adams ?

This kind of post always appear after a bad result. A 4-0 away defeat to Sheffield Wednesday is an ideal time for those who want Tan out to put their heads above the parapet.

Like all City fans I'm not happy with the result. But that is what it is a bad result. When we played Sheffield Wednesday in the league we did the double over them and took 6 points. If given a choice I would take that over a literal pointless 3rd round FA Cup tie.

I don't agree that the management team are clueless (for that to be true we would have to be in the bottom 3 or just above), I don't agree that the board are clueless, we have remind within FFP and have never received a points deduction which to me suggests that the board know exactly what they are doing. Our playing squad is no where near those at the top of the league and I would suggest we reflect exactly how good it is by our league standing.

We are a team in transition and it needs time. Any true fan would give the club that time rather than indulging in their own personal dislike of the owner.

Give him the money he wants and he’ll sell then. Simple.

He’s not going to accept less money than what his valuation is.

So until then, he stays.

Tan can afford to keep the club running with the change in his back pocket. That's the problem having a billionaire owner who knows nothing about the culture of a football club. It doesn't help much either that he is a stubborn piece of shit.

Tan is not a billionaire but an extremely wealthy man Forbes latest has him at $695m or £550m Still a wealthy man but not a wealthy football owner in relative terms to others

It doesn’t matter if you are a professional or not.

The human body has limits and if you are playing week in week out it will have an effect. There is a TED talk from a cardiologist who points out that there is clear evidence that repetitive, consistently intense physical activity will have detrimental effects on your body. The money does not come into it at all. They are being paid for their talents and it is up to the club to nurture everything else to allow the talent to flourish.

These are not marathon runners who see running at their own pace. They are physical athletes who have physical battles with others to win the ball 90+ mins a week and train the other days.

To say this is the same for other clubs and therefore it can’t be an excuse is laughable. Yes it’s the same for every club but that can be seen in the table - we are top half let’s not forget.

Without a doubt we need more players. This would mentally freshen the players as well as allowing for greater rest periods.
