“ There’s always next year “

Well, what a strange game that was.

If you take the scoreline out of context, it looks absolutely awful.

But the performance wasn’t actually that bad. I know some will criticise me for saying that, but it wasn’t. Stats will back me up.

What was bad was our defending. That’s a defence which had one first team recognised defender in it. The rest were two wingers, a central midfielder and a youth defender who most know is not good enough.

Next we come to the worst part.

We didn’t score in that game because of terrible finishing by the forward players. We created loads.

But two awful penalties, sitters missed and we had enough of those chances to actually win.

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t that bothered about a cup run. I think the last thing we needed is more games.

But I will say that it’s disappointing to go out like that. Still can’t believe how many chances we missed.

It just highlights more than ever why we need at least one, but maybe two strikers.

Onwards to Leeds, there’s always next year for a cup run

Creating so many chances and not scoring even 1 goal is just not acceptable at this level

I see your point about the defence. 3 of our main players were missing.

As for the attack we just have not done anything about it for a few seasons now.

But for me the real problem is the dross we are carrying from last season. What did they do tonight?

Yes fair points
I can not argue with anyone slating Callum Robinson, but that defence, formation?
We had one recognised defender on the pitch at one point

To say it’s a bad performance is not actually fair.

We created more chances, had more set pieces, the same possession, attacked the opposition more than they did.

But I agree with you and the first reply to this topic, having that many chances and not scoring is poor.

Most exciting game in 6/7 weeks regarding attacking without an end product.
Would have won that game with Moore up top

The worst part is, even with 2 penalties plus all the chances we didn’t even test the keeper, who judging by the shot he dropped near the end wasn’t up to much and would have struggled with any decent atttempts on goal
