“ Tan has got to go “

Sat Jan 06, 2024 10:45 pm

I keep seeing this posted on here, week after week.

It’s one of the things posted on here that annoys me the most, for the following reasons.

It’s all good saying “Tan’s got to go” but if he doesn’t get offered what he wants for the club, he’s not going to sell. And he has every right not to sell obviously.

If you put your house for sale, you wouldn’t accept 50% of your asking price.

It’s true that we’ll have to be a Premier League club for him to get what he wants for the club. But he does have the right to say what he wants for the club should he decide to sell (always said he would sell to the right person for the right price) and not accept less, as is the case with any sort of business.

Finally, he’s not that much of a bad owner. At least not compared to several other clubs.

I have never been his biggest fan due to the rebrand.

But when you look at the likes of Bury, Rochdale, Reading, Derby etc (as well as Luton, Bournemouth and Portsmouth in the past), it proves things could be a great deal worse.

Yes we have debts, but all clubs have debts these days. Manchester United are arguably the biggest club in the world, look their debts. Our debts are manageable as well.

Other clubs may have owners who will go into the transfer market and spends millions to gamble at promotion, but I wouldn’t want the club to gamble on that. That’s what the likes of West Brom did and now they are under big pressure to get a promotion that isn’t certain.

We as a club will improve the squad this window, we will improve on last season’s position and then I’m sure we will also see further additions to the squad in the summer to push for the top six next season (assuming we don’t do that this season, personally I think it’s too soon).

We are making good progress from the last two years.

I would much rather it be like that than have an owner who will gamble by spending money to get us promoted, which would put the club in serious financial problems in a few years time if we didn’t achieve that promotion.

I am just saying that people should be careful what they wish for.

Hes spent 100s of millions of his own money on us , remember he coughed up 15 million for the sala fee last year .he bank rolls us its a simple as that , even dalman has said that to the trust as Keith confirmed a few months ago .

Did you read what I put there Wez?

I didn’t actually say he has to go, I pointed out he’s entitled to get what he wants if he decided to sell and things could be a lot worse with a different owner.

Yes I did read, my response is a general response to the people that say he has to go .not aimed at you .

No, it’s a sentence that people often put on here.

The title is misleading though, surely it should be, People has said "Tan has got to go"

I cannot stand the man for the red and this horrible badge, BUT its better the devil you know. He's bank rolling us. Other than the red, and some horrible managerial appointments, he's pretty much unseen.

Also, there's hardly a que of buyers kicking his door in. We need him. His time will come to an end, hopefully with the club in good nick.

What annoys me is then people says "He bank rolls us".

That's his choice as he was offered a good price for the club, Dalman went public on it.

You thought it was a good proce but obviously tan didn't, remember it's well over 200 million now tans has invested so he's not going to take 100 million spread over years is he? .billionaires don't need to sell they keep hold of assets till the time is right.

Yep no argument there.

The deal was £100m upfront and another £100m if we get to the Premier. If that is right then its no wonder the interested party walked and no one lese is going to bother.

The only way Tan is going to get his money back is if we get back into the Premier and stay there for 10 years. For that to happen he needs to invest. Lets see if he does.

Another wind up thread, unbelievable

TAN OUT

No wonder we have have the 2nd worst away support in the Championship

Unbelievable this topic for NO reason

I kept my word on not bothering to talk about Tan, but it’s unbelievable that some keep trying to bring Tan up just as a wind up.

The facts are Dalman is running the show this season end off.

The same people then bate us to get involved with Tan debates but everyone knows my position and I will never change ever .

Watch the same names bring this topic back up again lol

AND I PERSONALLY DONT MENTION TANS NAME IN VIRTUALLY NOTHING OTHER THAN IF THE MEDIA HAVE MENTIONED HIM.

You could/do argue that but to be fair to the OP, he put it in inverted commas, which is generally seen as a quote...

However, we must remember that when all is said Mehmet Dalman is 'in charge' of playing resources this season and it was he who introduced the manager and Forever Blue is correct in that notion :ayatollah:

.....he is though. Good price is irrelevant. If he left tomorrow, with no-one else stepping in; we wouldn't survive long.

The 13 years or so under Tan, I have seen Cardiff in the Prem twice, CC final, ok it did not work out, but being there was things well, I could never have dreamed of! Back in the early 90s.

In the early 90s I was one of a few or maybe even the only one from my class at school that really followed City, going home and away as a kid, getting 3000-4000 at home etc..

I went to Llantwit Major high school and went to home and away games with some of the older kids to me back then.

So, I will always have respect for Tan, and be thankful for what he tried to do, APART from the red of course, away at Burnley, going up in Red just felt so wrong..

All I ask now, if TAN sells, it’s to somebody who cares about the club so we can move forward again.

As reported over many years now, Tan wealth has gone down and down, but he still as I understand it, like WEZ etc.. bank roles most of the the club, if not him, not sure who really does. Even though his reported wealth has dropped over the years.

This is not a wind-up post in anyway, just a view.

And to be very honest, it is time for a change in terms of Tan, but hopefully he gets something back he can agree on, because he deserves that, my view only! Until then happy to sick with it.

But I would love, a new good owner that can take us to the next step, and this time say there a while.

Saying he bank rolls us is also misleading…. Last year Dalmain injected another £150M of his own money to make sure everything was paid, obviously he gets it back at 9% or whatever it is as a loan but Tan didn’t bank role us last season.

He was over for the queens funeral and for Charles’ coronation but only came “home” to his club over Christmas this year. Yes the past few years have been tough for him to travel with Covid restrictions but, not being funny here, Annis was able to make it over and Spain/Balerics had some of the most severe lockdown rules.

You're having a laugh and just making stuff up, Dalman isn't & never has been worth anywhere near the £150 million figure you've quoted there.

I think that was a misprint.

I believe Dalman has invested £30m over the last couple of seasons.

Put it this way if a crowd of yobs abused my 90 year old Mother whilst she was in her wheelchair I won't be too keen to come back to CCS either.

Dalman might be pumping borrowed money into CCFC at 9% interest, but it is Tan who is liable to pay both the interest and loan cash back eventually one way or the other. So, Tan is still bankrolling the club

2018 his company lent the club around 25 million there's been no other increase since in any accounts , this last set may show more but its still no where near tans 20 million in 2023 ,tan made available again to the club remember tan paid the sala transfer in full .

Tan put in over 20 million last season, how did the sala cash get paid? , it was confirmed from dalman himself that tan paid the sala fee in full and continues to support the club financially, its quite simple Dalman couldn't put anything over 11 million in due to ffp it doesn't allow it .so your 150m is way off the mark even 15 million would be .
