PAY ON THE DAY CARDIFF CITY FANS

Updated:

Karlan Grant trained with us yesterday and today. So he will be OK for the weekend.

UPDATED:

Not good news on O’Dowda

O’Dowda coming back?

Bulut: “He was starting with us and then he got a small injury, because of the injury he had that can happen. It happened to him. Now it looks like six weeks (from today) until he’s back playing, hopefully March.”

“We are not lucky with this.”

O’Dowda has played only 6 games out of 30 League and Cup games

Ramsey latest:

Bulut: “Aaron about 10 days, he will then start training with the team. He is doing well. I hope he can continue then without any problems and he can be in the team.”

"These injuries are always on a small line - something can always happen that an injury again can finish the season for the players. Ramsey and O’Dowda are very important players for us. We can see it on the field, our xG dropped down a little bit (without them), those players helped us a lot in the offensive part. Our xG, creating chances dropped without these main players.

"The players have had to change, the system has changed. The players have done a really good job. After 26 games we are in ninth position and three points away from the play-offs. We cannot say it’s bad. It’s good work from the players, who have worked really hard and given a lot. We have to push and work hard until the end of the season.

TEAM NEWS:

Striker Grant is out injured.

Cardiff are without Ramsey & O’Dowda.

Ramsey and O’Dowda have played only 6 games this season out of 29 League and Cup games.

O’Dowda is expected back this month (January).

Ramsey will start light training this week.

Leeds United players past and present have been taking to social media following Luke Ayling’s Elland Road departure. After struggling for game time under Daniel Farke this season, the club’s vice-captain has been allowed to join Middlesbrough on loan until the end of the season.

With his contract at the club due to expire this summer, the move ensures he has played his last game for the club, bringing an end to his seven-and-a-half-year stint in West Yorkshire. The 32-year-old has achieved club legend status for his efforts in white during that time with his role during the club’s promotion season of 2019-20 being considered absolutely pivotal.

Erol Bulut insists his Cardiff City side will play with no fear this weekend as they welcome Leeds United to South Wales. The Bluebirds have struggled for consistency in the Championship of late, picking up just three wins in their last nine league.

However, after their win over QPR on New Year's Day, they sit ninth in the league table and they know a win over Leeds would be enough to carry them to the brink of the play-off picture. The Welsh outfit will take confidence from their win in west London last time out, while they'll also be keen to look back to the opening day of the season when they picked up a point against the Whites at Elland Road.

Leeds needed a stoppage time equaliser from Crysencio Summerville to save themselves from an embarrassing opening day defeat on that occasion and Bulut believes his side can take plenty from that contest.

"It will be a tough game against Leeds, we know about their quality, but of course we will not hide on Saturday," he said during his pre-match press conference on Thursday, as per Wales Online. "We will try to give our best on the field to get the points for us.

Farke has received a boost with goalkeeper Illan Meslier set to return after a three-match ban for his red card in the 2-1 Boxing Day defeat to Preston, while Sam Byram, Joe Gelhardt and Ian Poveda, who's been ill, are all expected to make the trip across the Welsh border.

Cooper joins Struijk on sidelines -

The bad news for Farke is that he's looking somewhat light at centre-back, with Pascal Struijk set to miss a third consecutive game and Liam Cooper now considered a "major doubt".

Phil Hay reports that Cooper missed training on Friday because of a groin problem, and his manager consequently expects to be without him against the Bluebirds.

Playing Siopis, Wintle and Ralls together is just criminal.
