This is what people need to remember.
It has always been said how difficult it is to sign players in the January window.
Clubs will always be reluctant to let players leave if they don’t have replacements.
Other clubs are willing to let players who aren’t playing leave, but there is often a big queue of Championship clubs interested in those players.
Everyone wants to strengthen the team mid way through the season.
You can look at what other clubs are doing but under the terms of our transfer ban, we weren’t even able to formally agree any deals involving fees until 1st January. That wasn’t the case for other clubs.
Last January, we did very well with bringing in new signings and I’m sure it will be no different this month. Especially as we will have money to spend this time.
But people need to be patient.
We may not sign someone this week or next week (I hope we do), but we will strengthen the team before February I’m sure.
Remember that after Plymouth on the 20th, we won’t have any more games this month so that may enable Bulut to work with Dalman to put all his focus on getting transfers over the line.

I've been saying this for a long time but the January window hardly ever solves any problems. It might dent a problem but it will be far from solving it.
The best we have done over the seasons is when we brought Frazer Campbell in for our first promotion push to the Premier. The guy was knackered when he first came and is possible the reason we got him. Fortunately he got himself fit and did well even so he was not the main reason, far from it, that we got over the line.

We knew January was coming along time ago and for 3 yrs now we have known we need a good striker.
I honestly believe a good striker would put us 6th.

Yep. January is a tough time to get any decent player, let alone a striker. Just think back to when we paid millions for Madine.

Complete nonsense…can I just remind everyone that 2 years ago in the January window we signed:-
1) Cody Dramah
2) Alfie Doughty
3) Jordon Hugill
4) Uche Ikpeazu
5) Tommy Doyle
These 5 players didn’t cost a penny as were loan signings and stopped us being relegated
Probably our best transfer window in decades and that was in January
The players are there if our recruitment is up to scratch and we are willing to pay the wages and loan fees

I'll give you Cody Dramah from that lot but the rest were touch and go. It was only Cody we wanted to stay.
If I remember right Doughty was injured for most of the loan. Hugil and Ikpeazu were hit and miss although Ikpeazu scored the most important goal of the season for us against Barnsley. I like Doyle but I felt we made him look alot better due to the weak squad we had then. Sadly none of those above have made it anywhere since leaving us.

We would have paid a loan fee for Doyle.

What do you mean exactly that none of them have made it anywhere????
Doughty is playing regularly in the Premier League
Doyle is playing regularly in the Premier League
Dramah is on loan at a Premier League team
Hugill is a starter at a Championship team!!

Cody Dramah is on loan at Birmingham until the end of the season. He then becomes a free agent as his contract is up at Leeds. I very much hope we make a serious effort to sign him up in the summer.
