Whitts' 09-10 season with the amount of goals he scored was something else. I always wondered if there were any bids that actually came in for him?

i've been fortunate to speak quite a few ex city players, and they all said the same thing, every summer, a premier league club would table a bid for him, and he would just no, i'm happy here. and then the club would give him a new contract. had no interest in leaving cardiff.

They should change the red seats in the upper ninian to blue and name it
Upper whittingham stadium.

Whenever city had a free kick outside the box you just knew he would score. The number of times I saw fans pull out their mobiles for a picture when he was lining it up I lost count. I remember watching the away playoff game against Leicester in the local club when we had that free kick at an unbelievable angle and I said " He's gonna have a pop at this" and everyone said "yeah right" They were gobsmacked when he scored and said how did you know and I said " Peter Whittingham he does what he wants".

Too right mate.
I also remember opposing players bollocking the player who committed the foul as if the knew what was coming.

The club should name a stand after him. That’s the least they can do! What a servant he was to our club.

Here’s to you Peter Whittingham :notworthy: :bluebird: :bluescarf:

I think the "Peter Whittingham Family Stand" would be great. Then, when a kid asks who he is, the adult who's taking them has the honour of describing our great legend to them........and the legend lives on.

RIP great man. :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

I’m going to contact the club. Run the idea past them and then try and set up a petition next home game after Leeds. See how many signatures I can get.

Get in contact with the Peter Whittingham Foundation, see if they’ll back it too, his wife is on the board, would be great for their help :thumbright:
