Dortmund

For some reason my son (12) is desperate to go to watch B Dortmund play, he says he wants to go to the grounds with the best atmosphere. Anyone been there or had any experience of Dortmund?

PS: He always says after asking, Dad this doesn't mean I don't love city!

It means you love football lad and experience all you can in life.

Not sure about watching the game sadly, I know certain places do package deals to European games. I wish I had his passion to experience life when I was younger.

I've watch games in the Middle East and across Europe. The passion I have witnessed across these places match the passion we have for our club. Without this passion from all of these clubs football would be nothing.

I have some good memories of Dortmund.

Years ago I photographed the Champions League game between Manchester city and Dortmund.

As photographers we were required to be there 3 hours before kick off to take photos of the supporters milling around outside.

On this occasion the Dortmund fans were all inside the stadium. About 10,000 of them - singing non stop until kick off.

It was awesome
