Tan 2nd Thoughts ? : In view of the overall

Tan 2nd Thoughts ? :

In view of the overall picture , could Tan possibly be having second thoughts about backing Bulut to sign quality players be it buying or in wages ?

I really hope he does ….but doubt is starting to creep in my mind . Tan is a clever businessman (but a failure in overseeing and making footballing decisions) ….he is also totally dispassionate , mechanical and ruthless when making decisions ….so let us examine the facts :

The first thing I want to say is that there is no need to be hypocritical about it ….. practically TAN IS THE BOARD …..he makes all the big and important decisions and he sanctions and approves all the players transactions .

Objectively , dispassionately and realistically the likelihood is that the presently top 5 clubs will finish as the top five clubs .

Of course one or two from the trailing group may rally and catch up and of course one of the top five may go off the boil ….but I believe that this is unlikely considering who the top five clubs are.

My view is that arguably , nine clubs ….from Coventry (6th today) to Bristol City (14th today) are chasing the elusive 6th spot . It is going to be musical chairs for that last playoff spot.

AT BEST WE HAVE A 10% chance of making the play offs. Even if we make the play offs we then have a maximum of 25% chance of promotion . So all in all we have a 2.5% chance of promotion . On the other hand , there is no realistic danger of relegation .

So Tan is bound to be thinking ….”should I be spending £millions to buy players “? ….”should I be getting high quality players who will attract high wages” ?

“Since I am already funding the Club in a big way on day to day basis ….do I really need to be spending really more good money to sign high quality players on good wages” ?

“ I have spent over £100million on CCFC ….and counting … more and more ….so why should I commit more ‘today’ if my chances of promotion are very slim ? As a fan , I will be very pleasantly surprised and happy if indeed we really do sign top notch players ….but my mind is now telling me that we will only end up getting bargains at moderate ‘buy’ prices and at moderate wages .”

With little hope of promotion, the top 6 buys you a lottery ticket but Leeds or Soton would murder most teams over 2 legs, so would you spend money on players who'd be 31 in August, plus salary?

I wouldn't. 26 year olds at least give you resale value.

Tan 2nd Thoughts ? :He wouldn't know a good manager if they were staring in the face.Malky,Warnock, and Errol.
He can pick out a clown though.
McCarthy,Harris,Ole,Slade.
Scott Young and Gabbs.
He'll turn to Tom Ramasut one day.

If he’s spent £100M plus mostly on players wages, then he’s very silly. Problem is, he’s been allowed to by an industry that requires intervention in terms of financial structure. I really hope Man City are stripped of their titles, although it will ruin the sport in its true sense, but that’s already happened anyway.

If this is the case and annis is right we will be looking for a new manager before next season

Whoever wrote it, its well written and something I probably agree with.
Spend but not too much, I do trust Errol tho. My only concern is the age of the players he wants, tan wil want resale value

I thought Dalman was in London personally driving this...

You don't build a team in a single window though, few players across three windows is the right way...

I confused now. I was on the understanding that Salamanca was now in charge. Ieither way it’s all speculation at this point hopefully. We’ll find out for real in a purple of weeks, I’m relying on these done deals coming through.

Based on its content, The replies are all around 'who wrote it'?? Quite incredible really. If it has also been posted, then Annis thinks its of substance and worthy of debate. Very much like myself.

For the first time in a good three years, we have at last given outselves something to work with. A far better, but not yet proven, manager, and a better calibre of squad. Again, not the best squad, but one that we can now add to to improve rather significantly.

Tan has kept out this year for which I will give him credit, however, has the initial excitement got to him and he wants to be part of a joyous re-emergence of the good feeling? Of course he has the right to, but lets not immediately jump back to 'as you were' please.

I was always very much of the opinion that January wasnt a test of Buluts credentials or skills in the transfer market, but of Tans willingness to oversee continued improvement with appropriate backing.

No backing, one can argue we are back to the same strict regime. As has been mentioned by Pantmawr Blue, one reason Bulut is not being backed could be 'why back a manager that wobt be here next year' - and that is a distinct possibility. Bulut is not one to be made to look a fool one would have thought.

Based on that last comment, is that a reason for Tan to dislike the man. Someone who stands up against him. Someone who can be cast aside like other meeker individuals before him.

The is the firat chance in a while to build. A team, rapport with the fans, goodwill, and a future. Theres a long way to go, but If this chance is allowed to slip from our hands, then the downward spiral could be long and painful.

My comments, like those posted by Annis are just my opinion, and may be far from the truth. They are posted though for debate and discussion.

Ive enjoyed this season far more, despite the current drop in form, but, as many have said and alluded to, this window and this time is very worrying indeed.

After the last couple of drubbings, I can't see any quality players wanting to come to us, including the likes of Kieffer Moore.
They will be looking for a transfer or loan to a team with a realistic chance of promotion if they move to The Championship.

I think we'll see one or two average and probably cheap continental players arrive which may, or very likely may not improve the team. :(

I have said it a 1000 times Moore is not coming end of!!!
