Cardiff now need to start thinking about building the squad with more permanent signings.
Loans can be good to fill up some remaining spots, but this Cardiff squad needs constancy and cohesiveness. Without the same core of players, it’s hard to build this relying on loan players for the starting 11.
Our current contracted players are not at the level Cardiff need, this needs upgrading and not temporarily.
Just my thoughts as most rumours have been for loanees, would be nice to start the summer with a decent core and build on from there.

Nah,loans are good.Just think supposing Bulut gets in some quality loans and then we make the top 6 and then surprise, surprise we get promoted through the play-offs we then wouldn't be stuck with players that although good championship players won't cut it in the prem.

Success in the championship relies heavily on the loan system. Some of the big hitters in the prem were in with us not so long ago. Definitely a good thing.

Agree that loans are good and helpful, and definitely take advantage when a good player is available.
However, we still need some players who will be with us next season also.
Promotion is unlikely, but a together squad that plays the way the manager wants is needed. So ideally, hopefully we see both types of transfers this month.

I was discussing this and I tend to agree...
What we should be doing is building a spine of young but already proven players who could make the leap to the next level; then slowly add to them to create a team/squad that is pretty gelled by the time we get there...
For me, Dave Jones achieved that but sadly failed in his quest to get over the line...
Malky was doing the same before he imploded and we never had it again...
Not even under Neil Warnock, where we had a 'fighting' team but not a 'pretty' team...

I also agree, but we have to bare in mind these things take time. Especially as we just had this embargo lifted. I can't see us signing many players in this window to be honest, I'd be happy with 2 being a LB and CF, maybe a CB too. Then crack on and get more in the summer window.

We also need to look at local talent, at the present time only two welshmen in the first team squad, Aaron Ramsey and Rubin Colwill, this is a total disgrace for a team from the capital of Wales.

Loans will do until the summer. No panic January buys.
We'll end up with another Bacuna!!

Definitely permanent signings as a preference, but only if they are likely to improve the quality of the first choice 11.
Obviously easier said than done as quality signings will command a large fee.
Of course, questions are currently being raised as to the financial generosity of Mr Tan and the board.
Loan signings are fine as a short term fix. But you can't build a team for the future using them.
If they perform well it is likely their parent club will either want them back for their own use at the end of the season, or they will be loaned out elsewhere in the following season. We have examples of this in recent years.
