Booking Fees

Wed Jan 17, 2024 1:22 pm

Why do the club charge a £2.00 booking fee regardless of the fact that you have travelled to the stadium to pick the tickets up.

It is disproportionately high.

My sons ticket for Watford was £5.00 yet the booking fee was and additional 40% of the cost :laughing6:

100% with you on this. People are getting up early on a Saturday to make a 350 mile round trip to give the side support and the club charge you £2. I know everyone does it these days but its wrong.

By selling the tickets they are doing Watfords admin without being paid I imagine.Better than traveling all the way to Watford to buy tickets only to have to make the same journey on match day.Is that charge per ticket or per transaction.

How is £2.00 per ticket an “ admin payment”

Surely the price of the match ticket includes the administrative charge, which the purchaser is obliged to pay for.

How is £2.00 proportionate when it involves a simple text to your phone ( which you pay for in your phone contract).

The club probably pays for Wi-Fi to send the e ticket out but I bet it’s nowhere near £2.00 per ticket.

In the last few years is gone from 50 p per ticket, to a £1.00 , now it’s £2.00 with no explanation. What will it be next year £3.00?

The club probably don't own the software for the ticketing system and the admin fee pays ticket staff and software system they don't get the ticket money at away games only home games .

Your asking the right questions in the wrong place.I suggest your contact the club who are better placed (being the perps in question) to answer you. If you are just having a rant however, I have a spare torch and pitchfork.

I'm sure it used to be a quid? Bristol City tax changed that!

Ask the idiots who smashed up those toilets. Even though they've probably been paid for ten times over by now, the extra quid seems to still be on ticket prices.

I think judging by the recent comments by the Trust , this clearly is the right place to raise concerns don’t you think :D

Thanks, Martyn; this is how it was explained to me...

Theatres, cinemas and other sporting venues do it as a matter of course. They all say it pays for admin and other overheads and is the only money earned when selling tickets on behalf of another club or event holder.. :ayatollah:

And they also have to pay for any tickets not sold, although this match is nearly sold out there must be other matches where they have a lot of tickets that are not sold.

Not an issue with them if posted etc but to charge people for hand pick ups is scandalous and unnecessary, especially when they are literally outside the ground on match days.

They rarely have to pay for unsold tickets. This only happens in very limited circumstances e.g where the home club are able to sell out and the logistics of their ground enables them to use part of the away end themselves. I think this happened at Leicester.
