Scottish Championship Club Dundee United Asked Cardiff to take back Ollie Denham as they were not going to play him in their first team and after 5 months they only gave him 43mins of football and that was in the Scottish Cup.

Ollie Denham who is 22 yrs old in a couple of months concludes his loan spell at Dundee United after only 2 sub appearances in 5 months and that Cup matches.

City are saying they recalled Denham, Dundee United wanted to return Denham as they were paying his wages and was not good enough for their first team.

Denham failed to make an impression at Dundee United

Dundee United are in the Championship ( Not Premier) of the Scottish Leagues.

Denham now returns to Cardiff City who Erol Bukut Says are very short on players and
had only 15 first team players available v Plymouth.

Denham will now be paid by Cardiff City.

What would you do with Ollie Denham?

Try and sell him or loan him out before the end of the window and buy or borrow someone better.

Re: Cardiff City player returns:

If he isn't cutting it at 22 in the Scottish league one (one below prem) then I don't think he will be of use to us

Re: Cardiff City player returns:

Mon Jan 22, 2024 5:59 pm

Sounds like he's out of options for a career as a professional footballer.

Re: Cardiff City player returns:

Try and get him out the club, not good enough.

Don't know when his contract ends but try and loan him out until the end of this season or even sell him.

Re: Cardiff City player returns:

Mon Jan 22, 2024 6:11 pm

He'll be "like a new signing" and straight into the match day squad you watch

I'm not having a go per se but this looks like we are recalling him because we're not getting any other cover and he's clearly not good enough

Re: Cardiff City player returns:

I beleive he is going to be used to replace panzo if we fail to get cover in the window.

I actually quite like him and he looked decent in the appearances he has made but lacks experience. Would prefer to see him loaned out were he will get game time.

I do believe he couldn't break into a defence that has only conceded 10 goals

Bulut
will be doing cartwheels.

Re: Cardiff City player returns:

Mon Jan 22, 2024 6:41 pm

He’s actually looked quite good in his fleeting appearances for us

Appears he’s not progressed at all and is unlikely to make any impact when he returns

Re: Cardiff City player returns:

For clarity...Dundee United are top of the Scottish Championship which is the second tier of Scottish football. Then there is League 1 and League 2, just like in the EFL

Re: Cardiff City player returns:

Has he been brought back for bulut to look him over to see if he can use him and if so thats his 1 of 6 from the board even the previous let him go on loan seems an odd time to bring him back or dundee did not want him which begs the question.?

Re: Cardiff City player returns:

Ollie Denham returns to Cardiff.

He’s played 43 minutes all season (In the cup), so Denham won’t even be match fit?

Dundee were paying his wages so he was costly to them as they never even played him in a league game in the Scottish Championship, which is not as good as our League 1.

Re: Cardiff City player returns:

forever blue

What i was getting at was i hope this was not what the board are offering bulut.
Not nice for the lad but he needs to go somewhere.

Says it all calling back a player who didn't get a full game in the Scots 2nd division

Not good enough clearly at that age for that league let alone ours and that standard is div 2 at best up there.

Who's going to want him though Tony if he can't get a game in scots 2nd division at 22 years old. The thing is we short on players why he's been called back I assume. Unless he's off to div 2 or the conference league who knows.

So OD is now back on our wage bill, sorry for the lad but perhaps Newport will have him .
Thought that GK was being sent back to Arsenal or are they paying his wages?

Yes we are now paying his wages, very low but still we are now paying.

I agree Newport for him.

Like all the players that we have been sending back etc we seem to be 5-10 days late in announcing lol
