MEDIA NOT HELPING...?

I had a conversation with a trusted friend and huge Bluebird supporter today and we discussed the furore caused by Erol Bulut's deliberate or maybe unintentional comments over the weekend and in recent times...

We noted that Erol's comments over the weekend were initially and mainly reported by the BBC and largely via the excellent Rob Phillips radio show...

They had the audio interview, so no matter how it could be put down to 'talking a foreign language', or 'poor interpretation', it couldn't be argued that it wasn't said...

Result: Open a huge debate, where seemingly everyone had a different 'take' on it and one of the busiest Forum weekends for some time and in the main pretty respectful and subjective

But then it got us talking...

When this was going on, where were MediaWales and their (supposed) insider reporters...?

Mehmet Dalman's (some would say overdue) statement in response was reported by the BBC...

We are told Media Wales is 'our ear on the inside' but where were they...?

Is this a reflection on them and their attitudevtowards the Bluebirds...?

I may be wrong but considering we are their capital (and Wales' biggest) team, it raises the question, when most of their coverage is stuff wecare already discussing on this very Forum, so nothing we (usually) don't already know...!

it has all been super messy i must say its got me think is this all smoke and mirros or just heat of the moment stuff ? for dalman to take so long to let us all know didnt help i wounder if they did have a meeting and then they promised a player or 5 are coming so he decided to stay ?

Kyle, it's hard to say but I've maintained throughout the club are trying; but maybe the club (Mehmet) and the media need to be a little more informative in the right ways...?

Secondhand and mis-information from often (but not always) well-meaning supporters is always going to cause speculative debate that can lead to weekends like this...

Personally, I don't blame Erol Bulut but he needs to pull it back, assuming he gets the help he needs; and I can't see why we sent players back, if that is not to be the case...

We desperately need a DoF, the game is too big nowadays for a club manager. Someone else should be carrying the can for transfer strategy and finances

Radio Wales always have exclusive access to City management, That interview would have been one to one, not a press conference.

Bulut is way too outspoken for his own good. Calling out his own players the week before after the Leeds game. He needs to take a look at himself, his dire team selection, formation and tactics. Out of his depth.

It does show that there is still a huge vacuum between the position of manager and the board which is why we've all said that a DoF or SD is a basic structural requirement these days. This key link and continuity position should have been a day 1 appointment when VT bought us and I think we would be in a very different position as we are now after 14 years. Some owners don't like it as they think they know best and some managers don't like it as it's seen as unwelcome interference but it's one of the first appointments I'd make as an owner of any sporting business at the elite level.

Sven sorry but why is is it whenever someone posts constructive criticism you go off on them , myself included. We are all entitled to our our own opinions , you cannot defend where as a team we are now since before Christmas. You cannot blame injuries as every team has the same problems. Why oh why do you keep defending the hierarchy of of our club?Do you honestly think things will change for the better in the current situation? By the way Iam 62 years old and have travelled home and away including Europe to watch my beloved team .
