Tan flies in for talks as cardiff target closes in on move


Cardiff owner Vincent Tan is flying to Europe later this week to meet with Bluebirds chairman Mehmet Dalman.

A number of topics will be on the table, including transfers and, importantly, Erol Bulut's contract. The club are hoping to provide more clarity on the manager's situation with a view to planning a coherent strategy not only for this season but for the coming years.

Bulut signed an initial one-year deal but it is understood the club have an option to trigger a further two.

Good idea if Bulut's team had been ripping up the division but as it stands I would give him a two year contract at most.

Tend to agree with the club not seeking to exercise that option at the moment in view of the absolute shite we've seen on the pitch recently but surely they have to try to give hin some tools to do the job?

I like the bit " planning for years to come" where have we seen that saying umteen times before

So the manager will get the chop then probs or given feck all but carry on with your freebies one or the other or maybe one signing who will inprove the squad which won't be hard atm.

I worked for this company up here where the MD was a typical tight arse shit. He delayed giving us the annual pay rise citing high interest rates. The rates came down a year later and we used his argument against him for a pay rise.

This is what we need to do come the summer. FFP will be a lot more feasible to work with so if we do not get any investment then that will tell us everything about this owner of ours regarding his ambitions for the club.

They'll be trying but it's a rubbish time to try and buy quality players, everyone wants them!

He'll try and extend Erols contract or sack him if the meetings go badly and he'll try and get him a Striker or promise one for the Summer.
