Minty blue,

Sadly

We have lost our support big time.

We now turn out about 3-4 times a season.

I think our diminishing away support is symptomatic of the past few seasons. We have very little to get excited about these days.

Certainly it's been flat at alot of home matches for some time too.

Wrexham are on a crest of a wave as they're getting success plus they've probably had several thousand new fans jump on the Hollywood bandwagon.

I'm positive the same thing would happen with City if the same kind of backing / success was there.

After so many years in the doldrums, the Hollywood hype has given the club a massive boost. Understandably their fans are excited by the possibility of progress but inevitably there will be a downturn in their fortunes further down the line and when it comes and the novelty wears off, let's see if their following starts to diminish as I suspect it will.

It’s good support but it’s only a 90 minute drive and it’s a reasonably big game for them and Wrexham last played At Ewood Park 43 years ago.

I’m sure lots of smaller teams including ourselves would take similar support if the circumstances were reversed.

Joff,

Would we have taken 9,000 away fans to West Ham FA CUP 3rd Rd?

We never sold out away allocation in the Premiership to their new ground, which I did travel to.

It took us in our 4th attempt to sell out away to Bristol City.

You know our support has been lost big time.

As to Wrexham I can’t stand them.
They once brought 25 fans to Ninian Park , In the old Championship.

But compare their away support to their home support it’s been Very impressive.

They are just on a roll at the moment, and the owners are charging the Football Club around 7% interest for the privilege.

Historical attendance records for the mighty Wrexham have them at 80th out of 92 in the all time rankings.

Small club punching way way above their weight IMHO

The West Ham United support didn’t sell out no, but they still took over 2,000 for a 7.45 kickoff and the date was 4th December which isn’t ideal.

We have taken large numbers to games at Liverpool and Arsenal in cup games though

I was there, Premier League.

You never answered would we take 9,000 away fans to West Ham FA CUP 3rd Rd?

And how come we have the 2nd worst away support in the Championship?

The actual real games we have Sold this season are Plymouth and Watford away.

Sorry , I missed that regarding West Ham. Third round of the cub, we would be lucky to take 2,500 in my opinion.,I can only speak for myself but the whole away game experience with Cardiff is boring , expensive and monitored, not for me personally.

Maybe things will change in time but after the last 10 years of being the same thing over and over again I doubt it.
Even home games the police “would prefer Cardiff fans away from the town centre “ yet the Welsh Government would prefer our fans to catch public transport as opposed to drive and the railway station is bang in the centre of the city.

Strange times indeed.

Not sure us having 2nd worst away attendance in championship is right? Our average will improve after we've played Bristol Swansea Watford Coventry

It should do, but with a club Our Suze and an average home support of 22,000 we should be in Top 10 for away Supoort.

Cardiff in the 70’s / 89’s I was always proud that We had a Great Away Support.

We’ve got worse as smaller clubs have got better.
