Elections will now take place in order for our Season Ticket Holders and Club Members to select their preferred representatives for our Fan Advisory Board.

Season Ticket Holders and Club Members are entitled to three votes each, one vote per category from the candidates which were selected by a shortlisting panel comprising of statutory supporter representatives.

Does anyone, maybe Vince apart, know any of the candidates to vouch and/or endorse...

Being honest, only two of the 'pitches' impressed me but that maybe isn't a reason to vote in any direction...

Equally, do those people realise the actual commitment they are going to have to put in...?

This really isn't a role to pick up and drop at will and will involve more than 'the odd meeting'

These are appointments we, the supporter still on the street, simply have to get right... :ayatollah:

Chris, this really is an important vote for our fans to get their views across to the club (which they have to listen to and prove they are properly consulting on). Yesterday, I was told that over 600 fans had voted to date. Whilst OK that is still only a small proportion of the total 15,000 season ticket holders and members so plenty more votes would be great.

The only recommendation the White Paper sets out is that the FAB should include Trust and female representation. The Trust board (elected by Trust members) elected myself and Mike Spear, who many may know from his work in the travel group and with the veterans who look after the Memorial Garden. The Supporters Club Committee (elected by their members) voted for Jane Ford and Luke Sommerfield, and the Disabled Supporters Association voted in Keiran Jones.
To get as wide a spread of opinions and skills as possible it would be great if the other 5 members elected are from other groups, to include a woman and a fan who is under 25 but that is entirely up to those voting. Their notes which were attached to their pictures on the club official website should give a good idea of how each shortlisted candidate would meet the criteria and what they hope to contribute to the FAB.
The 11 elected to the FAB can meet as often as they agree to do so in order to discuss important fan issues fans bring to their attention which will then be agreed and put on the agenda to discuss with the 10 senior club officials who are obliged to meet with the FAB on at least a quarterly basis. All meetings will have a published agenda and be followed by published minutes. Trust members can bring issues to the Trust board members they elected, Supporters Club members can bring issues to their two elected board members and the DSA first point of contact will likely be via Keiran. However, there is no reason why anyone cannot bring any issue to the FAB generally and one thing we will have to look at is how we can have a central contact point via social media.

Very well put Chris and all very good points.

This is a very important thing.

I submitted my votes tonight and would urge all eligible fans to do the same.

Thanks, Keith. This is more important than some will realise and your breakdown here will help...

I agree that the Trust, Supporters Club and DSA should have representation and I'm pleased there will be female representation. Indeed, one of the best 'pitches' I read on the voting list was one of the ladies who put themselves forward...

What we must all remember is that we all had the opportunity to put ourselves forward for what might turn out to be a quite public position, so we need to (a) respect that, and (b) give them our support... :ayatollah:

Quick question...

Has Vince cut his ties with the (already represented) CCSC...? :?

His inclusion here would indicate such; but I'm not sure...!

It's a shame TLG is no longer involved with us.

While I'm on it this forum should have a representative on it.

No, Vince has not cut his ties with CCSC, he is still heavily involved as Press Officer and also attends the regular SLO meetings to contribute to travel matters.

Personally, I was surprised that Vince wasn`t selected by the CCSC Committee to be one of their two representatives but they had a vote and chose Jane Ford and Luke Sommerfield instead to fill the two vacancies available to them. I have met Jane and Luke on a couple of occasions and they are both nice people who have a full understanding of what will be required of them on the FAB. They did recently have to issue a clarification that a circular sent around CCSC members suggesting that others were official CCSC Committee candidates was incorrect.

I have no issue with Vince being voted on by the members. He is one of my personal choices from past experience... :ayatollah:

Without giving away one of the people who I voted for, I will be astounded and disappointed if Vince isn't elected.
