Erol Bulut: “ Players that could leave in next 7 days “

Thu Jan 25, 2024 12:40 pm

Providing Erol Bulut can bring in New players, as he already reduced the wage bill by 5 Players and None in, the following could be leaving in the next 7 days:

Erol Bulut has been desperate to Sign up to 6 New Players this January, but the backing never came, with a week left and Bulut speaking out, Bulut hopes he can at least bring a few in, not his first choices they have all gone.

These players could well be going out:

Romaine Sawyers is one player Bulut is ready to let go asap.

Andy Rinomhota Is also high up there to leave.

Ebou Adams Is a lower league player and does not feature in Buluts plans.

Vontae Campbell, Bulut wants him gone, but as in the past once again Campbell is on high wages and City are struggling to get rid of him ( year after year we say we have learned and yet again we have expensive dead wood).

Rohan Luthra, If Cardiff ultimately sign Horvath from the City Ground, young goalkeeper Luthra could also leave the club this month.

Ollie Denham has just had a disastrous loan spell out in the Scottish Championship for 5 months making 2 sub appearances, Dundee United sent him back.
City are looking to find a club for the 22 yr old asap.

I would consider keeping Rimo out of all those.

For the rest of them I think we will struggle to get rid.

Ian,

Once again year after year we talk about dead wood, but we keep repeating and never learning and your right most clubs don’t want them as we paid them to much.

You`re correct about the need to clear out some of the dead wood which has come about by the policy of recruiting large numbers of players for many years now and taking the risk that some will succeed but some won`t and could be offloaded.
It is that offloading that is the problem. Of the players mentioned in this thread at least two (Sawyers and Campbell) have simply refused to move on as there is too much of a difference between what they are paid here and what they realistically could earn at another club.
The club also allowed managers such as Neil Warnock to overspend on both transfer fees and wages for players either not up to it and/or with little or no onward transfer value. That was the board of directors being too weak to stand up to him and stop his direct approaches to the owner to get his own way.

Morison I believe and we gave him a 3 year contract. I stand to be corrected on the contract.

Would love to see the detail on Vontae-Campbell's deal and the agent fees. Who on earth gave the lump a three-year deal on high wages.

Right up with Gary Madine in useless signings.

Yes Keith,

I have heard that them 2 are refusing to move on and accept a pay off.
But what happened to this Cardiff City Committee that over see’s all the transfers etc?
The latest players were all signed under their total say so.

Every season we hear the same old story. Get rid of dead wood, well let’s not let this happen Year after year.

Cardiff City
On 15 June 2022, Daley-Campbell agreed to join Championship side Cardiff City on a three-year deal, active from 1 July when his Leicester City contract expires.[8]

Can't we sue Leicester for breaching chapters 2.9 and 2.10 of the Consumers Rights Act 2015 ?

2.9 Goods to be of a satisfactory quality

2.10 Goods to be fit for particular purpose.

Just a thought.

And The CCFC Transfer Committee for overseeing it all and agreeing on it.

When your trawling in the cast offs and free transfer market at least 50% of these transfers will not work out

It’s the same with every lower league club

You’re right though Campbell is a strange signing as I very much doubt he had many other offers on the table. 1 year deal 2 at most if he’s not happy with that we walk away

Although I agree that these players need to be moved on I would be reluctant to let them go without any players to come in to replace

We have already let 5 go as stated above and Bulut was already saying we have a small squad

from my understanding, in the summer reading approached the club about signing rino, and the club said no, so we do get clubs come in for our players, one thing though in defence of the club, which i don't do often, is no club gets every signing right. Dave Jones was probably the best man we've had at the club in years who could spot a player, i do agree we should be wary of over paying players who havent featured much in their career e.g. Vontae-Campbell.

I'd have DJ back as DoF in a heartbeat. We wouldn't have this Campbell nonsense now, but how many clubs are going to come for him if they know about this attitude? Or has he realised he not good enough so just making hay when sun shines.
Discuss..

It's not wholly his fault, as the club agreed his contract...

But for me, pay him the portion of wages he will lose at another club and then show him the door...

Same for any of the current squad, as doing that frees up money for other players/areas to come in... :ayatollah:

Getting rid of 1 x Cambell + 1 x non-playing squad member would durely equate to the wages of a new incoming...? :?

Never not once did I say it was his fault but he must have thought all his xmas's had come at once.
Once again board too weak to reign managers in hence the need for a DoF and get non football people out of the way.

What contract has he got? He was a young player, barely in another teams team. I doubt he’s on that much.

I'd be interested to know what high wages actually means. He's surely not on much more than 5kpw?

What contract does he have?

Seen 3.5k to 11.5k online.

He was an England under under 19 international. Can see why he would have bed thought to be alright like
