Former England midfielder Carlton Palmer believes "sense will prevail" and Kieffer Moore will be allowed to leave Bournemouth before next Thursday's deadline.
The ex-West Brom, Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United player understands the Cherries' predicament, but, speaking to Football League World, said: “Kieffer would prefer to drop down to the Championship to get valuable game-time to give him every chance of making Rob Page's squad for the Euros for Wales in the summer.
“Surely sense will prevail at Bournemouth, and if a permanent deal can't be made a loan move with a fee will allow the player to leave in January and if he does, well a permanent deal might be stuck in the summer, especially if he gets picked for Wales for the Euros.”
Cardiff are one of a number of clubs interested in Moore, with his old club Ipswich Town as well as Sunderland thought to be keen, too. And, according to Kristjaan Speakman, the Black Cats' sporting director, competition is rife for striker targets.
