Who remembers Bob Hatton?

Late signing that Dragged us into div 2 82/83 if I remember right..looked too old but made hell of a difference.

Bob has got his hat on......

A very very good forward.

Excellent player during the final few months that he played for us.

Good old fashioned centre forward who made up our front three of Hatton, Hemmerman and Dave Bennett that got us promoted in 82/83.

I think he retired at the end of the season, Dave Bennett was sold and Hemmerman was out injured for a long time after getting injured in our last game at Rovers.

We didn't adequately replace any of them- typical City- butif i remember rightly we somehow managed to beat Man City who had come down -in our first home game back in the old Second Division

He could just hang in the air and direct headers to where they were meant to go. Great foil for Hemmerman.

Remember we beat Bristol Rovers and Newport in the December, then signed Hatton who made us better.

Brilliant player for us, I remember a brilliant strike at home against Brentford and the shot that was saved at Pompey to stop us winning!
My mate wore his shirt in Joe's testimonial (he scored against Shilton) and he gave it to me.
