With only 10 pts from a possible 33pts and Erol Bulut saying he was down to his last 15 players Bulut pleaded for backing.

Bulut was told to clear out players first before he could bring in new ones and so he has so far with 13
players leaving and 5 coming in.

Yes. He will be with us. He trained well, without any problems until now. So he will be with us against Watford.

It took a long time, we were expecting him back earlier, but with injuries you never know. Sometimes you’re back and something happens again.

But now he is healthy and will be with the team in Watford.

Having Ramsey back, like a reset, with new players, too?

Yes. When we had Ramsey and O’Dowda, our game was a little bit different in the offensive shape with the ball. After that when two main players are out of the team it's not easy to replace them.

We had a few problems, but right now, he is back and also we have made a few transfers. I hope we will be back again in that positive shape we were in before.

We are working really hard. If you hear a few days before the transfer window ending about the limit to what we can spend. This shocks you. We were thinking differently, with how much we could spend.

We are working hard to get the best players for Cardiff. The board, the recruitment are working hard the last four or five days to get the best players for Cardiff, to have this kick and attack in a positive.

What can he bring?

First of all, he is coming from a big team, Celtic. He played there many years and scored many goals and gave assists. This was what we needed in the midfield. We have quality players in midfield, but more in defensive shape, so we need more offensive, creative players, that’s why he was one of those players we could take. 24 years old, so even for the next few years he will be good for Cardiff.

We have to speak a little bit differently about transfers, generally. I am reading, getting messages from many people. I follow a little bit of social media and my guys bring me news about social media.

Some are complaining about Diedhiou, that we can have a ‘better one’. We have to remember the limits of the EFL and what we can spend. I was working like crazy with my team over the last two months, to watch players and get good players in. You can only do what the EFL says. If they say we only have £10 to spend we have to spend £10 and not £35!

The board were working hard on it to open the limit for us to get some transfers. I needed four or five players and still had to spend £10! Some fans who are writing on social media don’t understand this as well.

Some other teams are spending £5-10m but we don’t have this. We are limited in this. We have to send players out on loan to get players in.

This is the first year for me here in English football. It’s a limited budget to make five or six players. It’s not easy. So no one can say why we didn’t take certain players. If I showed you my list of strikers… but in the last few days if you hear you’ve only got a budget of £10 you can’t do it. That only happened in the last three days! So we have to look at other options, the best for Cardiff City to bring good players in.

Famara played in the Championship and scored 56 goals in four years in this league. His statistics are good. He wants to show himself and to say ‘I’m here’ again. In the Turkish Super Lig he scored 16 goals, which isn’t easy.

The last season maybe it wasn’t so easy. But now he has the possibility to show again.

Are you happy now? You weren’t after Plymouth…

Of course I am happy. I am happy I got players in and we signed players, this will also push players in the team to put the performance higher. All the cards are open, we get four or five players in and it will push our players to give a better performance than what they’ve showed in the last few weeks.

We had injuries at Plymouth, changed the system. We tried our best for Cardiff. And until the end of the season, with new players and the players we have, we will make everything possible to go in the higher positions.

What about the future? You wanted to build something?




I said it many times before. With the interview of our chairman, we are planning long term with us. It is nice to hear, of course, if we plan for the future of Cardiff City, we have to be quick with this.

If it’s with me or someone else, we need to plan for the future of Cardiff City to be a better organised to push for more for the future.

It was not in my mind to push someone or press someone to make something. I spoke about the reality to make something.

When I signed for Cardiff and spoke before about the targets and the last years everyone knows how it went here, to be in a safe position to keep the league. My targets are always high and I will try with the team to make the maximum. For now we are working.

At the end of December we were in the first 10 positions, we made good things, so on this we have to build. If it’s for long term to put Cardiff in a much better position.

But I understand it from Vincent’s side. He has spent many years investing, investing, investing. But in football if you don’t invest it goes in the opposite way. You have to push to go higher in the league. It might be disappointing for him to invest so much in the last few years and nothing changed.

He has to know I will always try to give my best for the club.
