A forum for all things Cardiff City

Fans don’t have to worry about you leaving?
No. I gave my word to the board. I will be with the team to fight and to take the team to a safe position in the league. I don’t like things to be at 50 percent. So I gave my word I will fight with my players until the end of the season.
From my side, everybody will know I will be here until the end of the season.

What about the future? You wanted to build something?
I said it many times before. With the interview of our chairman, we are planning long term with us. It is nice to hear, of course, if we plan for the future of Cardiff City, we have to be quick with this.
If it’s with me or someone else, we need to plan for the future of Cardiff City to be a better organised to push for more for the future.
It was not in my mind to push someone or press someone to make something. I spoke about the reality to make something.
When I signed for Cardiff and spoke before about the targets and the last years everyone knows how it went here, to be in a safe position to keep the league. My targets are always high and I will try with the team to make the maximum. For now we are working.
At the end of December we were in the first 10 positions, we made good things, so on this we have to build. If it’s for long term to put Cardiff in a much better position.

Someone needed to say it…
But I understand it from Vincent’s side. He has spent many years investing, investing, investing. But in football if you don’t invest it goes in the opposite way. You have to push to go higher in the league. It might be disappointing for him to invest so much in the last few years and nothing changed.
He has to know I will always try to give my best for the club.

Is it because they have an option to trigger an extra 2 years?
I guess closer to the conclusion of the season if all parties are happy it will be triggered

To be fair, we bemoaned the club doing this for other managers before they proved their worth; McCarthy being the biggest one...
I feel there may be a '
gentlemen's agreement' after last week's public frustrations and I also feel that the club would not have '
splased out' on a surprisingly decent number of players late in this January window...

Sounds like he's committed for this season and that's it.
Then what!? Let's see how serious Tan is about a Premier League return.
Thu Feb 01, 2024 4:42 pm
The "committed until the end of the season" - I see Bulut saying this due to that being his contract end date.
I don't see that as him saying he will leave, or not be bothered next season - I'm sure that statement will change if and when he gets his new contract.

Fans know that we have thrown the towel in for another season
I wonder what buluts thunking is as he sees out the rest of the season
He will obviously want to look good and do well for his CV
But is his heart in ?.
I really think he has been let down to what he was exspecting.

Why have we thrown in the towel? All the players brought in (by tonight) are better than ones replaed.? How as he been let down? Illic a bid was never made.... moore Bournemouth was the problem and in end "HE" decided Ipswich was better bet than City... and beketatas was never coming to City bulut said so himself so find it hard to say he was let down? Guess we will never
know what he feels given nature of jan window and the pitfalls it brings... maybe someone can highlight where he's been let down? I presume you think window was a disaster or similar?
Thu Feb 01, 2024 9:24 pm
He is just covering all bases.
Do well, just back me and i'll take us to the promised land
OK, if you backed me properly we could have gone close
Poorly, I can't work in this I am off
Can't remember a time when so many have left mid season. We could all see that Panzo wasn't great cover at left back, Ugbo, Adams, Runnarson were not championship whilst Ronomhota wasn't what he wanted.
We got a premier league center-half, championship proven Centre forward, goalkeeper, and hopefully a Scottish premier league attacking midfielder and a Man City kid (last one was pretty decent) at left back..... We should improve !!!

Lets be honest it was not difficult to improve over what we had shipped out as you said we have improved what we had
And do you really think we are going for promotion ?
We are 14th in the table
I think most fans have come to the conclusion we are not going for promotion this year
Hence throwing rhe towel un in promotion
And bulut in his words said beketatas was not coming because he was out of our league and we could not compete
we have not gone for a top striker which is what bulut wanted not some guy we found in granada
and we all know what bulut hoped for at the start of the window
My opinion of our window is concidering we have been under an embargo for a few transfers and where now free of it
and have not spent on anyone since Robinson
we could have pushed the boat out but we have' nt we have deferred the rebuild till next season and
its not what bulut envisaged as the rebuild imo.

So you are saying we signed 2nd rate players? Only a few like minded people consider that the case? And as you know the 3 players that bulut wanted didn't come because of things out of clubs control as yourself highlighted....... when did we exactly throw in towel This window?? You wanted us to Push boat out for a player who was only ever going to be a loan that cost £1.5m (moore) illic a player we never bid for? but guess beketatas we could have got at a cost ... but according to you we were never going to get promoted so what was point spending money on expensive players ? Let's be honest you have had a total negative attitude to this window from day one and no matter what club did it was not going to appease you? As for bulut and rebuild even he knows can't do it all in one window so not sure what else he could invisage other than ten players this window maybe?? Are you only person who thinks January is best time to buy players. Because it sounds like it.

personally think window been OK considering its the worst window to sign players .

I post positive when i see a positive and a negative where i see a negative
in your eyes the board can do no wrong
i did post a positive about our new midfielder just the other day?
and as regarding only me and a few other like annis etc
have a negative about the transfers been 2nd rate
you need to look at the forum in a bit more detail i think you will find that its not just a few.
But you would never accept any negativity its bad for the forum.

Personally I would give Bulut a two and a half year contract now because I want to see some stability/continuity.
However, what I do find strange is seeing all the people who slagged off the club for giving long contracts to McCarthy, etc., now slating the club for not giving Bulut a longer contract !!
Can’t have it both ways and Bulut’s record is not without fault so far even though I rate him.

Did we not do that with MacCarthy and Morison?

McCarthy played the Celtic line and we bought it hook line and sinker, then insanity set in. Sure Morisons was a 12 month rolling, which was 12 months too long

Am I remembering wrongly because I thought Morison was doing okay when he left us & it came as a shock to most when he did leave under a cloud of some sort? Weren't we in similar position to where we are now?
