FORMER Saints boss Nathan Jones has been appointed Charlton Athletic manager almost 12 months on from his St Mary's departure.

The Welshman, who was dismissed by Southampton on February 12, 2023, now makes his return to the dugout in League One.

The Addicks had been searching for a new manager since January 23 having sacked Michael Appleton after their 3-2 defeat against Northampton.

Jones has been tasked with keeping Charlton, who were tipped for promotion at the start of the season, in League One as they currently sit 19th.
