Ollie Denham 22 years old in a couple of months joins Irish club Sligo Rovets on loan.

Denham had spent the last 5 months at Championship club Dundee United but only made 2 Sub appearances and was sent back.

The centre-back joins the Bluebirds on loan until the end of the season. He has travelled down to south Wales today.

Phillips made 6 ( 3 starts )appearances for Celtic in 5 months.

Albeit going straight out to Tans Belgium Club rock bottom of their league.






22/01/2024: Scottish Championship Club Dundee United Asked Cardiff to take back Ollie Denham as they were not going to play him in their first team and after 5 months they only gave him 43mins of football and that was in the Scottish Cup.

its no wonder that the powers that be, were very aware of FFP, its clear that there were far too many players on the payroll, I think its also been a good exercise in getting many of the youngsters out to get competitive game time, and yes most of the deadwood has been removed. It gives the club the opportunity to structure the playing squad and the development squad with a much clearer plan.

Most of the players gone are younger players good experience for them .

14 players gone and 5 in.

Although out of the 14 players gone I don't think any of them should be near the 1st team and righty so they should he gone, which imo tells me we have some serious problems getting decent standard championship players coming through the set up somehow.

Always baffled me seeing other championship clubs with 2 or 3 under 20 or something playing in the champ for different teams weekly yet we can't get ONE not ONE playing every week.

Anything under the 1st team should be scraped imo as it ain't worked for years on end really.

The good old reserve league years ago when men took on boys and gave them a proper experience was the best rather than a bunch of over paid players playing u21 vs u21. I know which one would give them more for the future if they are going to make it of course.

These days we got 22 year olds driving about in 80k cars ffs and will never play 1st team football its madness tbh. If they ain't made it by then f**k them off how I'd see it but people call them kids and youngsters which there not.

Just under par players taking up wages from improving the 1st team imo that's all they are.

Something needs to change within the club as it ain't right clearly or we would have a load playing by now surely.

It's everything ain't it but you get what I'm saying. I wouldn't have 20 Labourers working for me but only 10 grafters out on site while the other 10 don't cut it but get paid anyway because there only 20 to 22 years old.

The whole set up under the 1st team ain't't working that's my point and i know where most would rather the money go to. The 1st team rather than all this ffp following talk that keeps getting used on here and everywhere else becausewe got 15 players for example who will never make the 1st team eating money for the crack

Usually in academy football you may have only one player with the chance of making it and the other 10 are there to make up a team All be it those 10 are far better players than any of us have been The team Ramsey was in we’re not that great. However saying that, we seem to have for many years have teams where no kid looks like making it and we are just fielding a team to stay in the league.
We would be better off not having an under 21 team and just make a few train with the first team and loan them on weekends to the local teams. That would save city around £1m a year easily.

We need to be Cat. A then the big boys can't steal youngsters without a fee and it would help FFP But not with Purse and Co.
