MY VIEW / OPINION: CARDIFF FACED A MID TABLE TEAM TODAY AND CAME OUT THE WINNERS & HOPEFULLY SEE’S THE TEAM ONCE AGAIN BELIEVING IN THEMSELVES.

I am not going to get carried away by this win, as two poor teams for most of the match.

But well chuffed with 3pts and an away win and seeing 4 of the New players coming on in the 2nd half:

A Win is a Win and boy we needed it.

Man of the match Our goalie by far Alnwick, followed by Rubin Colwill.

A great goal by Josh Bowler win the game.

SO TWO MID TABLE TEAMS MET TODAY:

Cardiff with only 1 in their last 6 games and Watford with only 2 wins from their last 7 games.

Turnbull made his debut in the 63rd min.
Josh Wilson-Esbrand debut 73rd min.
Phillips and Diedhiou debut 81min.

SO NONE OF THE FIVE NEW PLAYERS STARTED / BUT

THE FIVE NEW PLAYERS:
Famara Diedhiou - Loan (Grenada)
Nathaniel Phillips - Loan (Liverpool)
Josh Wilson-Esbrand - Loan (Manchester City)
Ethan Horvath - Nottingham Forest ( Undisclosed)
David Turnbull - Celtic £1mill over 3 years / plus extras

FIRST-HALF: Match started very dull it till the 23min and then a Great save by Alnwick. Both teams had looked poor.
27th min, Watford shoukd of been a goal up, but thankfully Alnwick cleared the ball of the line with his foot.

31mins: Our best chance Rubin shot just over the bar.

39mins:Great save and over the bar by Alnwick

The half was played like as though it was a friendly game and you could see Bulut getting frustrated, lack of attacking by Cardiff.

THEN YES: 43 min: A piece of absolute magic from @JoshBowler10. Beats two defenders, cuts in from the right and curls into the top corner! Stunning stuff! (0-1)

SECOND-HALF: Cardiff attacked from the first second and looked totally different than the first-half.

60th min: Watford made 3 subs.

Martins off, Dennis on.
Chakvetadze off, Sema on. Bayo off, Rajovic on.

Then Watford upped their game.

63mins: Rubin replaced by new signing Turbull.
Rubin was our best player?

73 mins: Double Sub for Cardiff, Wilson-Esbrand on for Bowler.
Romeo on for Ng.

81min Cardiff Subs: Etete off, Diedhiou on. Collins off, Phillips on.

Watford attacked and attacked.

Save by Alnwick yet again.

Not complaining, but how did we get a result then!

Outstanding defending.

Defence was great, Alnwick great again shows having good GK can SAVE you points.

Subs did their job too, Esbrandat got caught twice in no mans land but did good otherwise

Turnbull didnt get to show much on the ball but hussled and got his foot in a few times

Take a bow Jack Alnwick (again)
Good team performance that showed character
Watford are capable of beating most in this league but do blow hot and cold, which we took advantage of
Fans sounded great

Great defence work from us that got us the 3 points.

Yes hit was a poor Watford team who are on a bad run. These games usually are the difficult ones and they did create the chances. We did well to hold on and all the players had a good game.

A win is a win….to me the result was more important than the performance after 1 win in 5….really pleased with 3 points

Players who came on looked a bit lost, but understandable having signed them only two days ago.

Colwill was excellent and ran himself into the ground as did Etete.

Great rear guard work, and great three points. Also gives Ramsey another week.

Thought Colwill & Ng both did great, as did Etete in the second half with his defending but Alnwick was outstanding again.

A wins a win even if we wasn't that good going forward. We got lucky today but defended for our lives the last 18 to 20 minutes more or less. Im sure we changed formation three times witnin that 18 to 20 mins to 8-) :bluescarf:

Agree with everything you said there Annis.

Good win. Not an entertaining game apart from Bowler’s goal but very happy with a good away three points.

Definitely a lot better than Plymouth.

Hopefully we can kick on against Preston next week.

I think the new players will get more minutes next week and Ramsey will be back from the bench.

Pleased tonight :bluebird:

Some good performances today even though it was a bit scrappy. Alnwick mom. Colwill looked good going forward beat his man and looked slick passing. Also Etete ran his socks off. And tbf thought Collins had good 1st half

Hard earned 3 points and clean sheet getting to psychologically important 40 point mark.

Would have preferred Ruben staying on. Why couldn't Bulut have had both RC and Turnbull on? Not a risk taker is he.

Esbrand got caught several times with lack of picking up his man and that could've coat us.

I watched this one at home on the box. Shamefully I left with 20 minutes to go heading for the pub to watch the egg! Missed the new players coming on. But I was confident we'd hang on for the win. Bluebirds!

...and at last played the 10 role where Bulut has refused to start him. He needs a run there, especially if Ramsey isn't quite ready. We were saying yesterday, Page should start him for Wales aswell
