Erol Bulut: “Discussing Cardiff’s League Position”

Sun Feb 04, 2024 2:36 pm

Aaron Ramsey was named on the substitutes bench, making a matchday squad for the first time in four months due to injury.

Speaking about his number 10, Erol Bulut: “We decided in the second half that this wasn't the game for Aaron after four months out, and I was pleased with how we were playing. We will manage him in the next few weeks. It's great to have him with the team."

Discussing our current league position, and hopes for the remainder of the season, Erol concluded: "We don't need to speak about the top six right now. We need to be a team.

"We need to try and get points every week. We need to play with confidence and together. And we'll see where that takes us."

I agree with him - lets not put pressure on ourselves by aiming for top 6 , play with a bit of freedom rather than expectation and see where it takes us :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Say it quietly 5pts from the top 6 one game at a time you never know?

We need to go on a winning run to have any chance. 70 points plus gets you into the play offs. We would need to win 10/11 of our remaining games at least. It would be nice to keep in contention right up to May but realistically its building to next season. Top 10 finish and beating the Jack's again would represent a good season.

We need a run of 10 games unbeaten with 4 or 5 wins in that run... then we can see our chances! Whilst we are 13th those above us cannot all win every week so a good run will put us amongst the 5th 6th place teams.... but tall order. :D

Usually about 72 points and more to make the playoffs. However, with a packed table and everybody beating everyone perhaps 70 will do it this year. If we go on a run now who knows. But just to see us build and play good attacking football will for me be great. If we finish in the top 1o I’ll be more than happy. And Bullit to be given a 2 year contract. We need to build up the club.

Only 5 points, but let’s be realistic a lot of teams above us.

Having 8 clubs above is OK as they can't all win on Saturday and seeing as only 8 points from 5th we win Saturday could move 3 places and get within 1 poing of others "if we win" this is why a run of 10 games unbeaten is essential and need it to start ASAP.
