Saying what we already know; our away support is immense...! :ayatollah:

Good video, the guy comes across well and nice to hear good things about our fans. He asks at the start whether Watford consider themselves a London club, I lived in central London for 20 years and Watford were never considered that and I don't believe their fans would either. Thanks for sharing.

Me and mate or wife one or the other always enjoy away as we have motorhome nice to stop over night before or stay after game

Just wish we could bring the same atmosphere back at home just cannot seem to drag fans back apart from swans and wurzels
shame we could have a great atmo every home game

I think a lot of fans enjoy the away because most are singers not the sort with a clapper in hand like fulham.

A big part of what you say is true Monty and even if we don't have big numbers, we seem to congregate together and sing but even with bigger numbers, almost everyone joins in and standing helps too plus you can stand anywhere.

What pisses me off with the CCS is Wayne Nash's personal crusade on removing any last remnant of a healthy partisan atmosphere that is in the DNA of football because he thinks it's the 80s/90s. This season he closed last of 117 next to the away and many people sit there specifically for that reason as the atmosphere is usually good as it's near to the away. The no mans land between the away and home is now the biggest in the UK I would wager and we are the only ground that doesn't have the equivalent of the Canton next to the away fans.

And there is no reason for this as there is never any trouble. And it's not because of his ridiculous regressive set up, it's because of CCTV, bans and jail sentences.

He's never going to change this of course whilst he's still here but it's something that I want the new representatives of the FAB to lead with, as if producing an environment for fans to generate an atmosphere, like all other clubs do, is not a "fan engagement" goal, I don't know what is.

I agree this wayne Nash's should be held to account by the fans representatives
Is he a secret egg chucker he would be more welcome at at the rugby stadium

Some people get power crazy when they get a job where they can dictate there views and completly ignore the majority bit like the welsh goverment
If we really think he is at the source of the problem we fans should start singing like we did against mad mick
Remember singing get out of our club and that did the trick hearing thousands of fans singing in unison

Obviously it has to be verified he is the problem
My question is why should 1 person have such power over the whole thing.

Monty, first of all, if you hit the "quote" button to the top right of a post, you can reply to the specific post and not have to do a separate one and include the posters name. You probably already know this of course but whatever device your using should have it which will make it easier for you.

On WN, I haven't spoken to him directly about this but I have spoken to other club staff and these decisions are driven by him. I don't know him personally but he's got it wrong on this ongoing issue as we are the only club with a no mans land like the Sahara and don't have the equivalent of the Canton next to the away. As I've said, he's even partially closed a section of 117 and made the FS gap even bigger this season. His reason (excuse) is that the club expected larger away crowds at certain points this season, which is complete BS, as if true, we've made match by match adjustments for that in previous seasons.

With so many of us complaining about this for years, he also seems conspicuous by his absence of any club communication at all, I don't get programmes anymore so he may have had a piece in there at some stage but someone would have picked up on it on here and shared it.

Keith Morgan (Trust) had commented on this season's 117 closure situation and said he'd seen stewards bodycam footage of some incident so it seems like WN has used isolated incidents as a catch all to get what he wants. I sit in 117 and there has never been any issue apart from a jacks game where stuff was being thrown. The cure for that was to have an increased DMZ but only for that single fixture, we didn't even need it for the Wurzels so no need for this policy.

I've spoken with the stewards in 117 about this and they confirm too it's driven by WN.

I'll be contacting the FAB reps about this and may even put a post on here about it and the main FB City groups so that others can ping them before the first FAB meeting too, as everyone I speak with say this outdated and unbalanced
policy is a problem and exclusive to us.

Since seats were introduced there are no grounds with a good atmosphere apart from Leeds. Don’t know Nash, but sounds like he has poor communication skills.
Anyway, what gender is our No Man’s Land? Gardener Nash will advise I’m sure.

This is what annoys me.

People blame our flat atmosphere on the stadium when it’s simply not true.

We have had a brilliant atmosphere at CCS for derby games (like Swansea and Bristol this season), Premier League games, when we were doing well in the league and of course Wales games. There was also a great atmosphere for the Super Cup when we hosted it.

So blaming the actual stadium is a very lazy comment.

I do agree with what others have said, in that more can be done by the club to improve the atmosphere. But they’re right in what they say, that won’t change while a certain individual remains at the club.

I would expect the FAB to put this across at the first meeting, but my hopes of the club actually doing something are less high.

I used to be in 117. I grew tired of the stewards bollocking fans for standing up or daring to have banter with the away fans.

Especially as the away fans could take a shit in the centre circle and the club would just let them get on with it.

In recent years, I know away fans still get good treatment but not quite as much as they used to thankfully.

But the home fans down that end of the are still not treated how they should be.

That’s why I moved my season ticket to Canton a long time ago.

I certainly won’t be changing it back until the club have some common sense and relax the rules in that part of the stadium.

I do worry that people like this individual who decides these things, will use isolated incidents like what happened at West Brom the other day to keep it how it is.

But I’ll say it again, the actual stadium is not the problem. There has been a brilliant atmosphere in there at times.

My first time at vicarage road, I agree with his thoughts n the stadium I love how the corners were filled in , it felt square and enclosed , love that. Hate our big gaping tunnels in each corner of the CCS surely we only need two at most?

Had a great fun trip on Tony Jeffries coach with my two young sons. One of whom ended up four rows down from our back row seats after the goal with some impressive limbs! I’m still hoarse as hell after starting a lot of songs! Great to hear Grange End Star and Yma O Hyd.

Let’s recreate the same noise n the canton on Saturday Bluebirds!

Yes I loved what a neutral had to say about our fans.

We need to turn up like that more often.

The atmosphere was electric and with a City the size of ours and South Wales, plus many many areas behind us, we should take 2,000 fans away every week.

I'll have to have a sit down after reading all that.

Luckily he didn't mention the chants of "Peado" aimed at the Watford mascot who brought the young Cardiff mascot over to the City fans before kick off so that she could do the Ayatollah.

Or the similar chant mentioning Elton John during the game.

We have some magnificent fans who follow the club all around the country.

Plus our fair share of idiots as well unfortunately.

GrangeEndStar, Fantastic post.
WN is a power crazy nobody who should have been ousted long ago as he cannot move with the times.

I agree great post
by GrangeEndStar
Helped me with post also

Is there anyway this 1 power crazy guy can be knocked off his pedestel he should not have so much power surely its not down to just 1 person and if he is riding rough shot over everyone we need perhaps start saying he is killing the atmosphere and start chanting his name every home game saying we want him out of our club
Surely someone is going to listen to that.

I'll reply to you both on this post as quicker but thanks for the comments, you're both good posters on here and we all want the same the same thing which is the best for the club.

I don't have anything personal or an agenda on anyone, including WN or even Tan for that matter. It's all about constantly improving quality, as it is in life in general. And if your in charge and not doing that, then one of two things have to change.

1: You change your behaviours to achieve the former.
2: Or you leave, one way or the other, as eventually the floating stops and you will be found out, as you haven't delivered.

Does this wayne nash watch any other championship games watching

Away have about 5 yds from plymouth fans with a line of stewards between them
Various games i have watched on tv and the same not this stupid rows of empty seats
to my knowledge we never had this in the prem under warnock cannot remember big gaps of empty seats.
