EROL BULUT:
Nowhere To Run Nowhere To Hide
The manager has called the players out, the board out, but yesterday's tactics and team sheet, must surely be the final straw? It must be time to get a proven championship manager in, to blood some youth, ready to plan next season?
Two O'clock in the ground, when I was handed that teamsheet, I couldn't believe my eyes. Rubin Colwill one of our star performers away at Watford, again left out, dropped to the bench. Aaron Ramsey fit and available, not starting, Famara Diedhiou signed to pepper up our flagging attack, a judge on the bench. Joshua Wilson- Esbrand brought in from premier champions Man City, to cover a tired injury racked Collins, ignored.
We were pushing a bus up a hill backwards with that starting eleven. Wintle and Siopsis, again patrolling in front of the back four with Phillips in for injured McGuiness.
Despite out bright start, and several tame strikes which barely tested Woodman, again we failed to cease the initiative at home. Perry caught upfield out of position, it was knife through butter as Preston's first assault on our goal, saw them take the lead. Heads dropped all over the pitch and the stadium, a buoyant expectant home support, knew we were beaten right there!
Crisp north end passing carved us apart again minutes later ....Two zip half time.
Bulut completely changed the side start if second half. Chasing the game yet again at home Ramsey on and strangely left back Wilson Esbrand brought on to play ...right wing!!! Bulut doesn't do things half measures. How Etete stayed at centre forward an even bigger mystery? Never seen a centre forward fall over so much, he's like Bambi on ice.
Rubin gets a late cameo, which must be like a kick in his essential selection every week. We needed his Watford front foot drive to get in Preston's faces from the off yesterday. Sad to say the boy is better off away from City with our current manager, like all our other young prospects. None get a real look in?
Rambo was also needed at 3pm yesterday, we needed and wanted that first goal. If he faded just after half time, fine, pull him off? Diedhiou on from the start with Wilson - Esbrands overlapping at left back.
I take no pleasure in calling Bulut out again. I was hoping he'd learnt from his mistakes at home, obviously not. He's worried about opposition EVERY game, more concerned with not losing. A Leicester, Southampton or Leeds would have put five on us yesterday.
Bulut shouts for more time in his post match conference. I'm calling 'time' Erol... The match yesterday, needed an early city goal, another home defeat, a limp dire damp squib of a display . Home supporters deserve alot better, we've had months of chronic football.
Better players at his disposal than Mick's era, all under performing. Inverted wingers not working, chances not created, defences not turned, a fragile back four, no bite in tackles...the list goes on.
A not over impressive Preston average championship side at best. Physical and very capable of shutting up shop, with canny manager Ryan Lowe.
Tan must surely be sharpening his pencil? The sparse crowd, even thinner at the final whistle. Fans have most certainly had enough, this man is taking us backwards quick speed.
One win, one draw, six losses from the last eight home games, is glaringly poor. We'd see better matches local leagues and district.
The telling tale is Bulut ALWAYS looks for excuses, every single week. Not once has he put his hands up, said it was his mistake? He makes a continues to make them every games. Cheers Erol, time to go time.
Bulut ..Nowhere to run...nowhere to hide.
