“I have been working really hard and I want to play”

Tue Feb 13, 2024 7:16 am

Rubin Colwill is a Cardiff City player who has come through as an Accademy player since the age of 6 yrs old and 22 yrs old very soon and has now played 82 times for Cardiff City.
Our virtually only player in the last 14 years to make it.

The lad should now be starting as he is probably one of our main 5 players.

Rubin Colwill:

“I want to play in every game and give my all for my club.” “I know I have still a lot to learn.”
“I'm pretty happy with how it's gone. I've been working really hard behind the scenes and I'm doing as well as I can in training. I'm trying to raise my level and hopefully people can see that in my performances over the last few weeks and the progress I've made.”

"But it's not enough for me; I want to keep improving, keep becoming a better player, from now until the end of the season I want to win as many games as possible, but also improve as much as I can. It's an exciting time for me.”

"I like to play in different positions. I think if I play in the middle, I like to drift wide sometimes, drop deep or push a little bit higher. That's just a natural part of my game. I like to move into different areas, see where the opposition is weak and exploit those areas.”

Rubin for me is in our top 5 players, I find it unbelievable that Bulut keeps dropping him???

Tbf to colwil he's improved massively last 3 months .your point on the academy there's been a,few players we've produced that leave/poached on 1st year professional contracts tobthexlikes of wolves leeds and botj man city & utd , so we probably would of had a lot more in the 1st team if it wasn't for this, mind you city have made a few million the last 10 years out of the academy in compensation payments.

Seems to me that any player with a bit of the creative maverick in there gets overlooked for your defensive workhorses by EB.

Can’t disagree with the replies to this topic.

Made no sense to me that he was dropped on Saturday.

Ramsey is clearly not match fit enough to be starting games yet, so Colwill should be starting until he is.

Play them both. Don't care if it means we lose a bit defensively. More attacking, more intent. And most of all imagine Colwill would learn a lot more playing games alongside Ramsey.
