“ A CHANGE IN TACTICS BY EROL BULUT BUT THE SAME RESULT “
Erol Bulut made five changes and changed the system after his team were booed off in a virtually empty CCS on Saturday.
In my opinion, we looked much better tonight. We were more of a threat going forward.
But it’s another defeat and another game where we haven’t scored.
Etete missed a sitter.
Phillips did well defensively and was my MOTM.
Collins very poor for their early goal and probably should have been sent off as well.
He cost us that match as we went on to lose 2-0.
A least we showed intent and were more entertaining to watch.
But it is concerning that it’s another game of not scoring and not going that close really.
Any talk of the play-offs in now well and truly over.
We need to finish this season well anyway though.
Fair play to the City away fans, they never stopped singing.

Bulut out! f**k off back to Turkey!

Looked like a different side so I was full of optimisim. But conceding immediately really set the tone.
We really need to find a new way of clicking because it really worries me him here.

We look more dangerous going forward but that means nothing if you don't have strikers that know where the net is.
Tonight Etete did not do himself any favour so he can expect a lot of backlash until next game. He has not scored since September, that 19 games. I will be shocked if he is with us next season.

It's not a surprise to lose tonight but we are in relegation form. 15 defeats now. I am very concerned as I just cant see this turning around for Bulut. We just have that jaded, no hope feel about the team like the last two seasons. Realistically we only need to win 4 or 5 games to be safe but I can now see this going the same way as McCarthy with a long run of defeats before he is sacked. The joy has really been sucked out of this season now.

Negative first half performance .10 mins in the second half we looked to threaten but apart from that nothing really. Ramsey will get better the lad up top looks like he needs a few games but we lack any real penatration. Why was alnwick replaced thought hes been good .Bulut has to find a way its to slow and to be honest boring football to watch .

Tans trigger finger is twitching

Mabe same result but at least we did move forward more and if only etete knew where net was and not row z result could be different. Whilst playoffs is dream let's see if can continue to press more like tonight never know results may improve.

That's not fair, they all know where the net is. It's where the ball isn't.

We fans deserve better than this
On the way back thought we played ok 2 sh.t shows collins 1st goal and will someone ffs drive etete back to london the worse striker we have had in years my mum could have scored from 3 yds out eon' t be many making the journey to norwich
You could cry sometimes in frustration as a fan
And did this wonder striker from granada touch the ball.

We offered very little going forward again. We are really struggling to create. Very predictable. Our lack of quality when playing the ball into tight spaces is shocking. Etete isn’t a target man. We need to stop playing him like he is. The ball just didn’t stick. Much better when he’s running in behind. A hell of a lot to work on.

Clear to see Bulut did try get to get us playing more foward and that, but another game where Collins is a liability, not sure what can be done about that.
85% of goals conceeded are down the left
Be interesting if he can improve on that, still bollocks we lost. But Etete should of scored from 4 yards out

I'd try Tanner as the 9 rather than Etete
I'd Play Ashford as the 9 rather than Etete
I'd Play Colwill as the 9 rather than Etete
I'd Play Perry as the 9 rather than Etete
I'd Play Bulut as the 9 rather than Etete
But he still isn't as bad as Collins

Got to be a free striker out there somewhere?
Tue Feb 13, 2024 10:18 pm
Better tonight but still absolutely no quality in the final third
Rambo is head and shoulders above anything else we have but is injury prone and at the end of his career
Etete needs to get in the gym he’s an embarrassment falling over all the time
Colwill has the ability but needs to step up or he will waste his career
Wingbacks need to be attack minded not 2 converted defenders
I’m getting fcuked off watching this every week

Etete needs to look for another career.

Think that is 7 points now from the last 27 available, also add to that a 4-0 defeat in the cup to a dreadful team.
Not good enough for any manager especially one who has such negative tactics.
Time to go and allow Tan's circus to continue.

Rambos reaction shown in the replay of Etete’s 5yard miss summed it up for me.

Yes looked really pissed off especially the effort he put in to get ball back! Why oh why did etete lean back from there he only needed to wait for ball to slowly arrive then pass it into goal? Could have controlled it instead ... very costly mistake in scheme of things and way game went

We just ain’t good enough unfortunately

If he is not gonna pick ralls for midfield why not play him at LB,I know his pace let's him down but not all full backs have to quick.

Erol Bulut insisted he would stay positive despite a rotten run which has seen Cardiff City lose five of their last six matches.
The Bluebirds fell to a 2-0 defeat at West Brom on Tuesday night, with scoring once again proving a huge issue for this side. They were hit with a goal in the first minute from Mikey Johnston after Jamilu Collins allowed Tom Fellows around the back, before a counter-attack goal saw Andi Weimann tap in Jed Wallace's cross late on.
Cardiff had one golden chance at 1-0, with Kion Etete skying from just a couple of yards out, a miss which proved pretty costly in the grand scheme of things.
On the game, Bulut said: "It's difficult when you concede a goal in the first minute against West Brom, who are at home, with quality players. It's not easy but we pushed really hard, especially in the second half, we had chances to score and make it 1-1, with Kion and with Ramsey.
"If you don't score, it's normal that at the end they get the second one, because we were pushing to get the second one. We conceded the first goal easily, the concentration from the first second is important. We lost a one-v-one situation. Opponents, when they get those chances they are scoring and we are not scoring. This is the difference.
"We have the chances, but we are not scoring. It's difficult for us to score."

Collins is a repeat weak spot that isn't being addressed. Lions share of goals we concede comes through him.

Totally agree with you on that.

What I briefly saw was a slight improvement:
But 17 pts in 17 games (51 pts) & failure to score in 10 of last 18 is shockingly bad.

This all boils down to our total lack of ambition in the window.
Our lack of goals has been staring us in the face for 3 years.
With the embargo in place you appreciate that this would have been difficult & the loans of Philogene & Kaba kept us up. To still be in the same position now is so frustrating.
All I can see is to play 2 upfront with Méïté & grant and maybe give Ashford a chance from the bench.
Hope we get enough points to keep us up
