Predictable

Wed Feb 14, 2024 12:02 am

Our style of play (or lack of) is so predictable.
Apart from a 5 minute spell in the second half we offered nothing.
We slow the game down, Wintle & Collins are the main culprits of this.
Tippy, tappy football, sideways with no end product, we rarely get into the opposition final third.
Is Bulut the man for the job?? Maybe not..

I think Bulut caught many Championship teams out back in August/ September.
By October they started to see his style and from there he has not changed it.

It’s also dire and boring.

Exactly that Annis. Bums on seats is the name of the game. any more of this chronically bad football will see
us with gates of !2K next season, being optimistic.

Won't happen but if it did, that would be the truly loyal support, then... :ayatollah:

100%.

Of course if it was dire football up the top it would be fine as shown by Malky.

Question I have is are we (as fans) more or less predictable than the football?

It was a percect angle to study how we set up yesterday.

Colwill was almost progammed to fall into place when West Brom had it at the back. Others also, but you could almost see Rubin having to think about his positioning.

Also, at least 5 times last night we had either a free kick or a throw in near to their final third. All 5 times the ball ended up back with our keeper. We'd break the lines, stop, back to Wintle>centre back>Keeper.

The fear and panic when we did get to the final third (before Ramsey came on) was hard to watch. Over hit crosses, loose passes, awful long range shooting.

Needless fouls in the final third hurt us, also. The ball was safe/going out/our possession and both strikers gave away a handful of fouls. Poor.

Not a thrilling watch at the moment, is it?

Really think we ought to be doing better with the players we have.
Might well be a confidence issue now.
For once though, Bulut was not as predictable as usual by playing two up top. We kind of reverted to type a little though when Ruben went off.

As for Etete, just not good enough. I'd like to see the manager play Grant and the new fella as a front 2 or maybe bring CR47 back in if fit.

Defend from the front is what I’ve always been brought up with.
WHY on earth do we drop off opposition defenders and midfielders, work-rate, high press, get the ball back, get in their faces, put your foot in, let them know you’re there. Not in out nature!!!!!
