Erol Bulut Ready to Start:

Wed Feb 14, 2024 4:18 pm

Cardiff boss Erol Bulut says he could hand Aaron Ramsey his first start in five months after the Wales captain returned from a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Ramsey has only played 8 matches this season, many only 45mins in 35 League and Cup games.

But the midfielder could now make his first Bluebirds start of 2024 against Norwich this weekend, with Bulut saying he was "feeling good" after his cameo at The Hawthorns.

"Aaron was many months out and he is trying really, really hard,” Bulut said after Tuesday's 2-0 defeat. "He could start at the weekend, we never know, we will have to wait and see.

“After the last game where he played 45 minutes he was feeling good and after tonight he was also feeling good.”

He did more in 9 minutes than most of them did in 90 minutes.

We may as well start him. Nothing to lose assuming he can remain fit, the season is almost already ruined anyway for Cardiff and Ramsay may as well try to get fully fit for Wales in March.

Yep he certainly got involved and made things happen. Now watch our opponents take him out of the game and I'm talking tactically nor physical.

Agreed. He has to start. Different team with him on. His press alone is worth it.

He is our best player so he won't start.

Tactically they have no chance taking Ramsey out a game. I really feel he’s the reason we were doing so well at the beginning of the season because he not only gets that extra 10% out of his team mates, he makes so much space.

At the start of the season, teams tried to take Ramsey out of the game so many times. Doubling up on him etc. But his speed of thought is levels above most of the division. So, even with that in mind if he can’t create something, he then creates space for others because he’s that good.

To add to that, Ramsey is so good they can double up on him anyway, and he can still control the game.

100% agree
You may know what he is going to do, but you can't stop him, he is levels above everyone else, so opposition get drawn to him leaving space
At home Ruben should be the 8, I know he isn't going to win tackles like Ralls but he does knick the odd ball, but he is a midfeilder IMO he just isn't light enough on his feet for a 10

Maybe the start of an upturn in fortunes if he can avoid silly injuries... he certainly drives team forward as shown last two games after he came on.... what bulut needs to do is pick a team stick to it come what may! Consistency is quay to get better results.
