For the first time since I can remember, we kicked towards the Canton end for the first half. Out of interest, does anyone know the ‘done thing’ by the captains at the ‘toss up’?
I always imagined that if the away team won the toss they offered the choice to the home captain, hence we always choose to attack the family stand end first half.

Yes noticed that and very strange as cannot believe we've won every toss all season and more? Also Can't think of scenario why it changed Saturday?

I presume most away teams like to attack towards their own fans in the 2nd half too, but Preston didn't

Who ever wins toss gets choice of ends.

I imagine that before it's tossed, the coin that is. Is that each captain decides on who has the ball and end.
Obviously Preston chose the end

I get that but I’m thinking as it’s so often that we kick towards canton second half that perhaps the etiquette is for the away team to say ‘your choice’ to our captain.

It has to be etiquette as statistically the chances of winning every toss over a season is about 5 million to 1. I cant ever remember us attacking the family stand. Or do they automatically give the home side the choice and in this case we opted to have a change.

I assume that Preston decided to do it.
It’s rarely happened but on a couple of other occasions it happened, it was when the away side had low support.
That was also the case on Saturday so I’m guessing they just thought it would give them a psychological edge as we wouldn’t shoot towards the vocal home end in the second half.
The fact they had low support means it didn’t bother them that they shot towards us in the second half.

I noticed that too, I’m usually excited to see some goals at the Canton end in the second half, but there’s no fear of that at the moment
