Roy Hodgson taken ill and sacked:
Crystal Palace have appointed Oliver Glasner as new head coach. Roy Hodgson has been fired.

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson was taken ill during training this morning.
Palace have cancelled his scheduled press conference this afternoon.
They were also reportedly set to sack 76-year-old Hodgson before this weekend’s game at Everton.

Sad to hear. I know people have a passion for the game but it’s the last thing I’d want to be doing at his age. Retire and enjoy life for the short time you have left.

Totally agree.
Warnock and Hodgson are both in their late 70s and obviously enjoy the job.
But it’s a stressful job and at some point they have to decide to retire for good.
Sir Alex Ferguson retired at 71 and that was probably the right age for him. He’s still involved with football but can also enjoy his last years, as you say.

Hope he's OK. Always liked Hodgson.
I think that retiring is harder for some people, it would be for me too. What would you do with your time to keep your mind active and not be bored all day every day
