MY VIEW / OPINION: CARDIFF FANS HAD WAITED SINCE 9TH DECEMBER AND YES FINALLY A HOME WIN FOR THE BLUEBIRDS



Cardiff fans were Singing “We Scored a goal, We Scored a goal.”


I have to say for the first time in months the first- half was end to end and exciting.

Much much better by Cardiff and held firm in the 2nd half.

I have to say this was against a Stoke side who drop in to the bottom 3, But 3pts is what matters, goals scored and a home win.






Stoke had previously lost 5 of their last 6 league games and were 3pts above the bottom 3 of the Championship:



Erol went in to this home game v Stoke City:

Cardiff had not scored a goal at home since Boxing Day and not Won at home since December 9th.

Erol Bulut had only Won 4 of his last 17 League and Cup games and just Won 1 in City’s last 7 games (6 defeats).










FIRST-HALF: 7mins: GOAL! Ralls to Etete yes 1nil.
17mins Wow Stoke missed a sitter.

30mins gone match was evening out, Stoke more attacking than City.
33mins: Great football by Rubin Colwill ,then Ralls, with eventually lovely goal by Grant 2-0.

40mins gone Cardiff were in complete control, then Stoke had a free kick 41min Cardiff City 2-1 , Horvath saved then Stoke City Bae scored from save.







SECOND-HALF: Start of the half, Double sub for Stoke
Gooch on for Tchamadeu.
Cundle makes way for Laurent.

Horvath had to make a number of saves as all the early pressure was by Stoke.

Rubin Colwill replaced by Collins

Cardiff were looking tired.

Excellent hard fought win. Any relegation jitters have been eased. Still not perfect but much more creativity. I'll actually give some praise to Etete today too.

That result puts Stoke into the relegation spots.

My best 3 players today:

Collwill, Bowyer and Grant

Massive win , especially considering a lot of teams below us won and our recent performances have been depressing
I've always seen the effort from the players but as we know short of quality

much better today, but ralls just showed how important he is to us, lots saying hes no good and he needs to go at the end of the season i cant agree with that, he won tackles put the ball forward alot even put in some great balls, give him another contract i say.

lots of good attacks today but sometimes feel we put too much pointless pressure on ourselves by trying to force the ball when it dont need to be, hopefuly now we build on this and go again and get a little run going

Stoke's players and manager were booed by their supporters at the final whistle as they slumped to a sixth defeat in seven and slipped into the relegation zone.

Try n get some confidence from this now , game went weird again when colwill went off ,

4 points from 6. 1 goal conceded. Likely safe from relegation. We've had worse days

True, hugely disappointing signing so far.

I have been on the Bulut train but some fo those subs were off the chart. Won despite him

Ralls different gravey, as were the centre halfs and Siopis played well.

I think we just need to lick our wounds, be grateful it is only a loan, and politely forget about him

14th seems about right - it's an improvement on last season but also reflective of how inconsistent we are. Shown today we can be composed at home and secure points against worse teams, but don't think this will be indicative of a kick-on to greater things. I still estimate a 10th-15th place finish.

Rubin Colwill did brilliantly to keep hold of the ball after running into a forest of Stoke bodies before Manolis Siopis mopped up to feed Ralls, and his perfectly-time pass allowed Grant to race into the box and fire into the bottom corner for his fifth of the season YES
